Musk Leads Right-Wing Meltdown Over Trump Admin’s Epstein Review

Elon Musk and a growing chorus of conservatives are calling out the Department of Justice after it quietly released a memo declaring that no “Epstein client list” exists—and that there was no evidence the disgraced financier was murdered.

“What’s the time? Oh look, it’s no-one-has-been-arrested-o’clock again,” Musk posted on X, mocking the DOJ with a viral image of an “official Jeffrey Epstein pedophile arrest counter” frozen at zero.

Musk also shared a meme featuring a man progressively putting on clown makeup, ridiculing Attorney General Pam Bondi for previously telling Fox News that the Epstein list was “sitting on my desk.” The final panel reads: “There is no Epstein list.”

According to a memo first reported by Axios, the DOJ claims investigators found “no incriminating ‘client list’” and “no credible evidence … that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals.” The memo insists the official story remains intact: Epstein committed suicide in his jail cell, and there’s no need for further disclosures.

That explanation isn’t flying with many Americans—and especially not with Trump supporters who’ve long demanded full transparency.

The memo also stated that records remain sealed and would have been only “partially aired” had Epstein gone to trial. “We did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties,” the DOJ wrote. “No further disclosure would be appropriate or warranted.”

The Justice Department went even further, implying that renewed scrutiny of Epstein’s network would harm rather than help:

“Perpetuating unfounded theories about Epstein serves neither [victims nor the public].”

This claim comes despite former Attorney General Pam Bondi previously assuring the nation that not only did such a list exist, but she had it on her desk and was preparing it for release.

“I have a client list. It’s sitting on my desk right now to review,” Bondi told Fox News in February, sparking widespread belief that a long-awaited accountability moment was at hand.

Instead, what followed was a politically convenient document dump filled mostly with already-public materials and vague references to videos and sealed records. The DOJ’s latest memo now appears to contradict Bondi entirely.

The backlash was immediate—and fierce.

Conservative influencer Laura Loomer wrote:

“Who releases a statement about the Epstein files on the Sunday night of 4th of July weekend? Someone who doesn’t want you paying attention.”

MAGA personality Chad Prather added:

“Where is the Epstein info the American people were promised? You handed us a notebook and promised more was on the way. You told us it existed and now you say it doesn’t? America deserves answers.”

Robby Starbuck demanded accountability, asking:

“Pam Bondi said the Epstein client list was on her desk to review... Now the DOJ she leads claims there’s no Epstein client list. Sorry but this is unacceptable. Was she lying then or is she lying now?”

Turning Point USA’s Savanah Hernandez didn’t hold back either:

“Why did Pam Bondi get in front of the entire nation and say she had the Epstein client list on her desk? She should step down as Attorney General for lying to the American public.”

Even anonymous influencers weighed in. The viral account @catturd2 (3.7 million followers) asked:

“So all the girls who have testified about being raped on Epstein’s island were lying and Giselle Maxwell is in prison for being the madam for nobody? Please tell me this is fake news.”

The controversy is just the latest in a series of suspicious moves surrounding the Epstein investigation. Bondi previously stated the FBI had been tasked with reviewing “tens of thousands of videos” connected to Epstein, some allegedly involving minors. She also pledged to obtain the “full and complete Epstein files.”

Now, just months later, the DOJ is claiming it found “nothing” and plans to bury the case once again.

To Musk and millions of Americans, the timing—and the sudden pivot—isn’t just suspicious. It’s a slap in the face to justice and the truth.
