New Video Appears to Show Mitch McConnell Taken Away by Ambulance After Reported Cardiac Emergency
Newly surfaced footage reportedly shows Sen. Mitch McConnell being transported by ambulance from his Washington, D.C., residence following a serious medical emergency that has kept the Kentucky Republican out of public view for nearly a month.
The video is raising fresh concerns about McConnell’s condition as his office continues to provide few details about what caused his hospitalization or when the longtime senator may return to Capitol Hill.
Footage Shows Patient on Stretcher
The footage was reportedly recorded by one of McConnell’s neighbors on the morning of June 14, when emergency personnel responded to his Washington home.
A person believed to be McConnell can be seen lying on a stretcher as responders move the patient toward a waiting ambulance. The individual’s face is not visible, making it impossible to independently confirm his identity from the video alone.
An orange blanket covers the person’s lower legs, while the feet remain exposed.

CNN reported that another neighbor who witnessed the response said McConnell did not appear to be wearing an oxygen mask while being placed into the ambulance.
Emergency Audio Described Possible Cardiac Arrest
McConnell was hospitalized after the June 14 incident, but his office has not disclosed the medical reason behind his admission.
Emergency dispatch recordings reportedly described responders being sent to the address following a report of an unconscious person and a possible cardiac arrest. A medic could also be heard reporting “CPR in progress.”
McConnell was not identified by name in the emergency communications, and his office has not confirmed that he suffered cardiac arrest.
The distinction is important as speculation continues to spread online without a full public account of what happened inside the senator’s home.
McConnell’s Office Offers Few Details
The senator’s staff initially announced that McConnell had been admitted to a hospital and was receiving excellent care, but aides did not identify the hospital, explain his diagnosis, or provide a timeline for his return.
More recent statements have said McConnell continues to recover and remains engaged with Senate and Kentucky matters. However, his office has declined to release detailed medical information or provide public evidence of his current condition.
No new statement was immediately issued in response to the release of the ambulance footage.
The limited information has generated bipartisan questions about transparency, particularly because McConnell remains a sitting senator whose absence could affect important congressional business.
Unverified Rumors Spread Online
Public speculation surrounding McConnell’s health has grown more intense as his hospitalization has continued.
Some allies of President Donald J. Trump, including conservative activist Laura Loomer, have claimed that McConnell is “brain dead.”
That allegation has not been substantiated by McConnell’s office, medical professionals, or other authoritative sources and should not be treated as confirmed.
Republican senators and former McConnell associates have said they have recently communicated with him and described him as alert and involved in political discussions. Those accounts, however, have not ended demands for a more complete public update.
Neighbor Says Response Lacked Urgency
One neighbor who observed the ambulance response told CNN that emergency personnel did not appear to be moving with the urgency normally associated with an immediate life-or-death crisis.
“In a situation where perhaps time is of the essence, there seems to be a little bit more urgency, but there was no urgency here,” the neighbor said.
The witness’s impression does not establish the severity of McConnell’s condition, but the account has added another layer of uncertainty to an already closely watched situation.
McConnell, 84, has remained absent from the Senate since his hospitalization. The former Republican leader is serving the final year of his current term and is not seeking reelection.
Until McConnell or his office provides a more comprehensive update, questions are likely to continue about the health of one of Washington’s longest-serving and most influential political figures.
