Pam Bondi Reveals 'Truly Horrific' Actions of Wisconsin Judge Arrested by FBI: 'You're Not Gonna Believe This'

Attorney Pam Bondi offered new insight Friday into the arrest of Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan, who now faces allegations of assisting an undocumented immigrant in avoiding arrest by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

Dugan is facing two serious federal charges: obstruction and concealment of a person. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, her arrest took place Friday at the Milwaukee County Courthouse.

The undocumented individual in question, identified as 30-year-old Eduardo Flores-Ruiz from Mexico, had appeared before Dugan on April 18 during a pre-trial hearing.

Currently, Flores-Ruiz is being detained at an ICE facility in Juneau, Wisconsin.

Flores-Ruiz is facing three misdemeanor battery charges, which include domestic violence enhancements that could lead to stiffer penalties if he's found guilty.

Following Dugan’s arrest, Bondi appeared on Fox News and strongly criticized the judge’s actions, calling them “truly horrific.”

Bondi shared that the defendant was being prosecuted for assaulting both a man and a woman, injuries that reportedly required hospitalization.

She claimed that after learning ICE officers were waiting outside her courtroom to detain Flores-Ruiz, Judge Dugan took direct action to intervene.

“The judge screams at the immigration officers. She’s furious. Visibly shaken. Upset. Sends them off to talk to the chief judge,” Bondi stated.

“She comes back in the courtroom — you’re not going to believe this — takes the defendant and the defense attorney back in her chambers. Takes them out a private exit and tells them to leave, while a state prosecutor and victims of domestic violence are sitting in the courtroom,” she continued.

“Can’t make this up,” Bondi added.

According to Fox News, ICE agents pursued Flores-Ruiz on foot after he exited the courthouse and eventually caught him.

Bondi said when she and her team at the Department of Justice first heard about what had taken place, “We could not believe that a judge really did that.” However, after conducting a thorough investigation, they moved forward with filing charges.

She concluded with strong condemnation: “You cannot obstruct a criminal case, and really, shame on her. It was a domestic violence case, of all cases, and she’s protecting a criminal defendant over victims of crime.”

Judge Dugan was spotted leaving the federal courthouse in Milwaukee on Friday morning. As reported by the New York Post, she was released on her own recognizance.

During the court appearance, her attorney Craig Mastantuono stated, “Judge Dugan wholeheartedly regrets and protests her arrest. It was not made in the interest of public safety.”

When approached afterward, Dugan declined to comment.
