PATHETIC: Video of Jill Biden Goes Viral After Debate
Despite facing significant criticism from both Democrats and Republicans for his performance in his first presidential debate, First Lady Jill Biden commended President Joe Biden on Thursday evening.
During the debate's after-party, Jill Biden welcomed her husband on stage before a live audience, appearing pleased with his responses to the moderators' questions.
"Joe, you did such a great job! You answered every question, you knew all the facts!” she exclaimed, as Joe Biden smiled beside her.
Turning to the audience, the first lady continued, “And let me ask the crowd. What did Trump do?” before emphatically declaring, “Lie!”
The video quickly spread across social media following the debate, with various articles noting that Jill Biden’s tone resembled that of praising a child.
The media landscape has erupted over President Joe Biden’s widely criticized performance in the CNN Presidential Debate.
Reactions have ranged from “dismal” critiques to vocal calls from the left for him to exit the 2024 race.
Due to Biden’s remarks, there have been discussions about whether the assumed Democratic nominee should step aside, potentially allowing for a contested nomination at the August convention.
According to CNN’s Kayla Tausche, President Joe Biden is not considering withdrawing from the presidential race despite the negative debate reviews and pressure from some media outlets.
CNN anchor John Berman inquired on Friday morning, “Lot of questions for the Biden campaign. What are you hearing from the Biden team, Kayla?”
“Well, John, the Biden team currently plans to gather the few positives from last night’s debate. Some highlights have already been shared on social media, and they’re looking ahead,” Tausche responded.
“There are no plans for the president to drop out, and furthermore, he is committed to participating in a second debate in September, scheduled for September 10 and hosted by ABC News, similar to the format of last night’s debate,” she added.
“The adviser I spoke with mentioned that they’re not overly concerned about last night’s debate. Many campaign and White House staffers were also involved in President Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign. They drew a comparison to Obama’s first debate, which he himself referred to as a poor performance. They suggested that if pundits had been right, Mitt Romney would have become president,” she explained.
“But of course, a key difference is that after Obama’s debate, no one within his own party was calling for him to step down as president. That’s the situation Democrats find themselves in now. The sentiment among Democrats texting this morning is described as pessimistic,” she noted.
Tausche concluded: “Despite some public calls from within his party, there remains significant concern about the path forward and whether the issues from last night’s performance can be remedied. If not, the September debate might just be a repeat, leaving Democrats in the same predicament, even closer to Election Day. However, Biden himself did not appear troubled by the criticism.”
