Pirro: Biden Ends Presidency With Hunter Pardon After ‘Lying’ About Son’s Activities For Years

On Tuesday, the hosts of Fox News’ The Five dedicated a segment to discussing the implications and motivations behind President Joe Biden’s decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden. The move has drawn sharp criticism across the political spectrum.

Former judge and co-host Jeanine Pirro argued that it’s evident President Biden has long been aware of his son’s questionable business dealings, which congressional investigators suggest verge on illegality and directly involve Joe Biden and other family members.

The pardon extends beyond the gun and tax charges Hunter Biden was convicted of and due to be sentenced for this month, covering an 11-year period dating back to 2014. During this time, Joe Biden served as vice president and was tasked by President Barack Obama with overseeing U.S.-Ukraine relations. Meanwhile, Hunter Biden secured a lucrative position at a Ukrainian energy firm, earning millions despite having no relevant experience.

Pirro emphasized, “And some of those years encompass the years that David Weiss, the so-called special counsel—at least, I think he is—allowed the statute of limitations to expire on Hunter Biden’s highest-earning years, years that clearly involved his father and his ‘business’ dealings.”

“They’ve done everything to cover up what happened,” she continued. “They have denied and lied. Joe Biden began his presidency claiming, ‘I know nothing about my son’s businesses,’ and now he’s ending it by lying again and issuing a pardon for his son.”

The pardon spans from January 1, 2014, to December 1, 2024, and includes Hunter Biden’s convictions for lying on a federal form about drug use when purchasing a firearm and failing to pay $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019.

Pirro argued, “The bottom line is they’re afraid of something. They fear the Trump Justice Department being ‘weaponized’ and pursuing Hunter for charges that David Weiss didn’t indict him on. Only Donald Trump can address that.”

“They knew Hunter Biden was facing jail time,” she added. “He’s been convicted of two felonies—not just one, but two. If Joe Biden says no reasonable prosecutor would pursue these charges, claiming his son was ‘singled out,’ then why didn’t he fire Merrick Garland?”

Pirro continued her critique of the Justice Department, stating, “If the DOJ is so selective in its prosecutions, then fire the person you appointed, okay? Joe Biden has always claimed no one is above the law. But Hunter Biden is the perfect example of someone above the law—he wasn’t even sentenced. Most pardons involve individuals who have served their time and paid their debt to society. This isn’t one of those cases.”

“We’ll never even know what his sentence might have been,” she noted. “For President Biden to criticize the media and call this selective prosecution is ridiculous. A jury found him guilty. Are you saying you don’t trust the jury system anymore, Mr. President? And is your son incompetent? He pled guilty to six tax evasion counts. If he thought it was selective prosecution, why didn’t he fight it in court? This is all about Joe Biden lying—he started and is ending his presidency in the same way.”
