Polls Confirm Voters Back Trump’s Immigration Agenda, Reject Left’s “Buyer’s Remorse” Narrative

After weeks of Democratic pundits and media figures promoting the idea of “buyer’s remorse” following President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office, new polling reveals that the American public stands firmly behind the President—particularly when it comes to his immigration agenda.

A pair of recent surveys have soundly debunked the notion that voters regret electing Trump or were unaware of what they were voting for. In fact, Americans continue to support one of his core campaign promises: restoring law and order through strong immigration enforcement.

A new Marquette University poll found that 66% of respondents approve of President Trump’s handling of illegal immigration, underscoring a consistent appetite among the American electorate for border security and enforcement measures.

The poll was conducted weeks after the high-profile deportation of MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal alien with a criminal history that included human trafficking accusations and multiple restraining orders related to domestic violence. Despite Democrats attempting to paint Garcia as a sympathetic figure, Americans were not interested in revising the law to accommodate dangerous criminals.

Separately, a Quantus poll conducted this month found President Trump’s overall job approval evenly split, with 48% approving and 48% disapproving—a strong showing that directly contradicts a cherry-picked CNN poll previously touted by the left claiming the President had “the worst approval numbers in history” after 100 days.

These results confirm what many conservatives already knew: the American people remain committed to the principles that brought President Trump back to office, and immigration enforcement is near the top of that list.

The administration continues to build on its success by launching a voluntary self-deportation program—a move aimed at reducing the burden on taxpayers and law enforcement while encouraging illegal aliens to exit the country on their own terms.

Through this initiative, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will offer commercial airfare and a $1,000 stipend to eligible illegal aliens who voluntarily remove themselves from the United States. According to DHS data, this approach will cost up to 70% less than forcibly arresting, detaining, and deporting each individual—currently averaging more than $17,000 per deportation.

“If you are here illegally, self-deportation is the best, safest, and most cost-effective way to leave the United States to avoid arrest. It is better to get out now,” DHS Secretary Kristi Noem told Fox News.
“DHS is now offering illegal aliens financial travel assistance and a stipend to return to their home country through the CBP Home App. This is the safest option for our law enforcement and aliens, and is a 70% savings for US taxpayers. Download the CBP Home App TODAY and self-deport,” she continued.

The CBP Home app, designed to streamline self-removal, will allow applicants to register for the program. Those actively engaging in the process will be deprioritized for enforcement actions—offering a path to depart without immediate legal confrontation. Crucially, DHS has emphasized that stipends will only be disbursed upon verified departure.

Critics on the left have tried to spin the program as “paying people to break the law,” but DHS officials reiterated that the goal is to reduce costs, improve safety, and ultimately expel illegal aliens from U.S. soil. DHS also noted that self-deportation may improve an individual’s ability to legally reenter the United States in the future, if eligible.

Under President Trump’s leadership, immigration enforcement has not only resumed but intensified, focusing especially on those with criminal records. The administration recently classified MS-13 and Tren de Aragua—a brutal Venezuelan gang—as international terrorist organizations, paving the way for their removal and long-term containment.

Several of their members have already been transferred to high-security prisons in El Salvador, as the administration prioritizes the removal of foreign criminals from American communities.

The contrast with the Biden-era open-border chaos couldn’t be more stark. After millions of illegal crossings under the previous administration, President Trump’s return has brought decisive action and results. With public support clearly behind him, the President is pressing forward with an unapologetic, America First immigration policy—and voters are backing him every step of the way.
