President Trump Demands Chuck Schumer’s Resignation Following ‘Dangerous’ Assault on Law Enforcement

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald J. Trump is calling for the immediate resignation of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), following what the administration and border security advocates are labeling a "dangerous" and "unpatriotic" verbal assault on federal law enforcement.

The firestorm erupted during a heated funding standoff over the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As Senate Republicans move to secure the nation's borders and end a prolonged shutdown, Schumer sparked outrage by disparaging the men and women of U.S. Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“Wow! Cryin’ Chuck Schumer just said, for the whole World to hear, that ‘NOBODY RESPECTS BORDER PATROL OR ICE,’” Trump wrote.

“That is one of the most egregious, incorrect, unpatriotic, and dangerous statements I have EVER heard from a ‘professional’ politician,” Trump said.

The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), the union representing thousands of agents, joined the President in condemning the Minority Leader. The union emphasized that agents are frequently used as political scapegoats by the radical left despite their role as executors of the law.

“The National Border Patrol Council will not stay silent. We will defend our members when others attack them for nothing more than political expediency and personal gain,” the group said.

The Council also reminded the public that these agents serve as a vital lifeline during domestic crises, noting, “These are the same agents who respond when the country needs them most—deploying to natural disasters like hurricanes, floods, and wildfires.”

The union concluded with a defiant show of solidarity: “WE STAND WITH AND SUPPORT OUR AGENTS! We support all law enforcement, and we will not tolerate anyone who disrespects our wonderful men and women protecting America!”

Funding Standoff and Executive Action

The rhetoric from the Senate's top Democrat comes as the DHS faces a manufactured financial crisis. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin has warned that the department is on track to run out of payroll funds by the first week of May, a situation exacerbated by Democrats’ refusal to provide clean funding without radical "reform" mandates.

While Democrats have attempted to leverage a January incident in Minneapolis to justify defunding or restructuring enforcement, the Trump administration has remained steadfast in its support of the rank-and-file.

In a decisive move to bypass congressional gridlock, President Trump recently directed the department to access $10 billion in border security funds allocated in a previous spending package.
