President Trump Signals Maximum Pressure: Kharg Island in the Crosshairs as Iran Holds Out on Peace Deal

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald J. Trump is signaling a decisive shift in his administration’s strategy to neutralize the Iranian regime’s ability to fund global instability. In a bold assertion of American national interests and energy security, the President confirmed that the seizure or neutralization of Iran’s primary oil export hub, Kharg Island, remains a primary objective if the Islamic Republic continues to obstruct a regional peace deal.

Speaking with the Financial Times on Sunday, President Trump was characteristically blunt about the strategic value of Iran’s energy infrastructure and criticized domestic detractors who fail to grasp the necessity of cutting off the regime’s financial lifeblood.

“To be honest with you, my favorite thing is to take the oil in Iran but some stupid people back in the US say: ‘why are you doing that?’ But they’re stupid people,” the President stated.

Cutting the Head off the Snake

Strategically, the move would be a knockout blow to the regime’s economy. Kharg Island is the juggernaut of Iranian exports, handling between 90 and 94 percent of the nation’s crude oil. By controlling or disabling this point, the United States would effectively terminate the "Reign of Terror" funded by the ayatollahs.

“Maybe we take Kharg Island, maybe we don’t. We have a lot of options,” President Trump noted during the interview. “I don’t think they have any defense. We could take it very easily.”

The President further clarified his "Peace Through Strength" doctrine early Monday morning on Truth Social. He warned that if the regime refuses to negotiate in good faith and fails to keep the Strait of Hormuz open for international commerce, the U.S. response will be overwhelming.

“[I]f for any reason a deal is not shortly reached, which it probably will be, and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately ‘Open for Business,’ we will conclude our lovely ‘stay’ in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!), which we have purposefully not yet ‘touched,'” the President wrote.

President Trump emphasized that these measures serve as long-overdue justice: “This will be in retribution for our many soldiers, and others, that Iran has butchered and killed over the old Regime’s 47 year ‘Reign of Terror.’ Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

A 15-Point Plan for Stability

Despite the firm military posture, the administration remains focused on a diplomatic resolution. The President has proposed a comprehensive 15-point plan designed to end the conflict and bring lasting stability to the Middle East. However, the radical elements in Tehran have remained defiant.

The President expressed confidence that the sheer scale of American military success would eventually force the regime to the table. “We’ve got about 3,000 targets left — we’ve bombed 13,000 targets — and another couple of thousand targets to go. A deal could be made fairly quickly,” he told the Times.

Cracks in the Regime’s Foundation

While Tehran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, continues to use bellicose rhetoric—claiming according to NBC News that Iranian forces are "waiting for American soldiers to enter on the ground so they can set them ablaze"—the reality on the ground appears much bleaker for the regime.

Reports indicate a growing sense of dread among the Iranian populace regarding the regime's inability to defend its assets. A woman in her 20s told the BBC, “I am very worried and anxious about it... I think it is going to put a lot of pressure on ordinary people if it happens.”

Furthermore, many Iranians are beginning to see through the regime’s propaganda regarding its military prowess. An Iranian man in his 30s expressed significant doubt to the BBC about the navy’s capability to protect Kharg Island: “Obviously I will not be happy, but I want to see what the Islamic Republic will do,” he admitted. “They have been saying for years that they have a powerful navy, and I am skeptical.”

As President Trump continues to prioritize American sovereignty and the safety of our troops, the message to Tehran is clear: the era of American appeasement is over, and the oil that funds terror is no longer off-limits.
