Priceless: 'I Want My Mommy!' - Anti-ICE Student Tangles With Cop, Begins Wailing for Her Mom as Soon as Cuffs Go On
As the second term of President Donald J. Trump continues to reshape the national conversation around border security and the rule of law, scenes like the one that unfolded Friday in Washington state serve as a stark reminder of how deeply political activism has seeped into America’s schools.
During a student walkout at Enumclaw High School protesting Immigration and Customs Enforcement, one teenage girl learned a hard lesson about consequences. Moments after being placed in handcuffs by police, she began crying out, “I want my mommy!” — a dramatic turn captured on video and now circulating widely online.
The footage, posted to X, shows the emotional scene as officers detained the student:

According to an official release from the Enumclaw School District, roughly 100 students left campus at approximately 11:40 a.m. Friday and marched toward City Hall. The district emphasized that the demonstration was a “student-led event.”
Law enforcement tells a more serious story.
In a statement, police described what they called an “unprovoked assault” that prompted officers to pursue a “juvenile female suspect.” As officers attempted to make the arrest, tensions escalated.
“When officers attempted to arrest the juvenile female suspect, approximately 25 protestors surrounded the officers,” the statement explained. “As officers escorted the suspect, protestors continued to crowd officers and direct significantly derogatory remarks toward them. During this time, a second juvenile female protestor was arrested for obstructing a law enforcement officer after interfering with the initial arrest.”
Video evidence suggests that the girl heard crying for her mother was the second individual arrested — allegedly for obstructing officers during the initial arrest, not for the original assault itself.
In a longer clip of the incident, another female student appears to strike a counter-protester on the head. After that suspect was taken into custody, the second girl seemingly attempted to prevent officers from removing her. That interference resulted in her own arrest.

I was in disbelief that the police handled it so quickly. 😲 I’m so used to literally nothing happening. But, the Enumclaw Police clearly wasn’t having any of the assault 💩 . @DannyRebel333… https://t.co/fmviuyeqGH pic.twitter.com/a9zlLH0T7M
What stands out most in the footage is not chaos from police, but composure. Officers appear measured and professional, even as a crowd of students surrounds them, shouting insults and attempting to interfere physically. The restraint shown by Enumclaw Police contrasts sharply with the disorderly behavior exhibited by the protesters.
For many Americans, particularly older generations, such scenes would have been unthinkable during their own school years. Following officers while they make an arrest — heckling, crowding, and obstructing — would have carried immediate and unquestioned consequences. Today, however, activist culture has normalized defiance of lawful authority.
The deeper issue is not merely teenage impulsiveness. Adolescents push boundaries — that is nothing new. What has changed is the environment cultivated by adults.
For years, progressive activists and segments of the education establishment have portrayed immigration enforcement agencies as villains. During the 2020 unrest, anti-police rhetoric saturated classrooms and social media feeds alike. Young Americans were repeatedly exposed to messages framing law enforcement as inherently oppressive.
When authority is consistently delegitimized in the minds of impressionable students, confrontations like this become almost inevitable.
That does not excuse criminal conduct. Obstructing law enforcement is a serious matter. Assaulting others at a protest is even more so. The rule of law depends on equal application, and it is encouraging to see accountability enforced, even when those involved are minors participating in politically charged demonstrations.
At the same time, it is worth asking whether some of these students ever had a fair opportunity to hear the other side — to understand that ICE agents are tasked with enforcing federal immigration law passed by elected representatives. Under President Trump’s leadership, border security and immigration enforcement remain central pillars of national sovereignty and constitutional governance.
When adults model hysteria rather than reason, and activism rather than civic responsibility, young people absorb those cues.
The image of a teenager chanting defiantly moments before tearfully calling for her mother may become internet fodder. But it also symbolizes something deeper: a generation taught to challenge authority without fully grasping the consequences.
In the end, this episode serves as both a warning and a lesson — not just for students, but for the adults shaping the culture around them.
