Rashida Tlaib Chants “KKK” During Trump State of the Union
Newly surfaced footage from President Donald J. Trump’s State of the Union address appears to show Rep. Rashida Tlaib chanting “KKK” as Republican lawmakers countered with chants of “USA” inside the House chamber.
The video captures the Michigan Democrat repeating “KKK, KKK” while GOP members stood in support of the president during a tense exchange over immigration and alleged fraud tied to Minnesota.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) was also seen reacting vocally during portions of the speech, according to New York Post. The confrontation unfolded after President Trump sharply criticized immigration policies and referenced alleged large-scale fraud.
“When it comes to the corruption that is plundering America, there has been no more stunning example than Minnesota,” Trump said.
“Members of the Somali community have pillaged an estimated $19 billion from the American taxpayer,” he added.
The president further argued that the alleged welfare fraud “reminds us that there are large parts of the world where bribery, corruption and lawlessness are the norm, not the exception.”
He warned that “importing these cultures through unrestricted immigration and open borders brings those problems right here to the USA.”
According to Daily Mail, Tlaib and Omar shouted in response to the president’s remarks. At one point, the two lawmakers yelled, “You have killed Americans.” Trump turned toward them and said, “You should be ashamed.”

Republicans then rose to their feet and began chanting “USA, USA,” drowning out the objections in what became one of the most heated moments of the evening.
The National Republican Congressional Committee shared the clip on X, writing:
“Everything you need to know about today’s Democrats. They cannot stand this country, they cannot stand its comeback, and they cannot hide their contempt anymore.”
Reaction online was swift. One X user wrote, “As a black American, watching Tlaib, a non-black person chant ‘KKK’ is beyond offensive. That word carries generations of terror and pain; it’s not a prop for political theater. This is conduct unbecoming of a Member of Congress. Censure her.”
Another added, “In the last week Democrats have provided political ads for the Republicans in the next cycle that would choke a seasoned marketing guy. They write themselves.”

The Daily Mail reported it contacted Tlaib’s office for comment, but no public response had been issued at the time of publication.
Following the address, President Trump weighed in on Truth Social.
“When you watch Low IQ Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, as they screamed uncontrollably last night at the very elegant State of the Union,” he wrote. “We should send them back from where they came – as fast as possible.”
Omar immigrated to the United States from Somalia and represents Minneapolis. Tlaib was born in Detroit to Palestinian immigrant parents. The two were the first Muslim women elected to Congress in 2018.
The evening included additional disruptions. Rep. Al Green was removed after holding up a placard that read, “Black people aren’t apes,” according to the Daily Mail.
President Trump’s speech largely focused on domestic priorities, including lowering energy prices, tackling pharmaceutical costs, and strengthening immigration enforcement — themes that have defined his second term agenda.
The chaotic exchange underscores the deep partisan divide in Washington, but for many Americans watching at home, the most striking image may have been lawmakers chanting “USA” while others hurled accusations — a vivid snapshot of a Congress still sharply split over the direction of the country.
