REPORT: Newly Released Emails Tie Obama and Clinton Camps to Russia Hoax
Freshly declassified intelligence documents are shedding new light on what conservatives long suspected: the Obama White House and Hillary Clinton’s campaign were deeply entangled in pushing the now-discredited Russia hoax against President Donald J. Trump.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released a memo confirming that U.S. intelligence officials had already determined Russia played no meaningful role in Trump’s 2016 victory. Despite those findings, Obama-era officials pressed ahead with a narrative that would ultimately become the foundation of the infamous “Crossfire Hurricane” probe.
Paul Sperry of Real Clear Investigations revealed that his sources have identified explosive text messages and emails implicating Clinton campaign aides in direct coordination with Obama’s White House, the National Security Council, the State Department, and intelligence officials.
“DEVELOPING: I’m told there are texts/emails indicating Hillary Clinton campaign aides directly coordinated with the Obama White House, NSC, State Dept and Intelligence Community officials in efforts to dig up dirt tying Donald Trump to Vladimir Putin in July 2016 …developing…” Sperry wrote.
The Memo That Changes Everything
The declassified memo, dated 2016, told then-President Barack Obama explicitly that “Russian and criminal actors did not impact recent US election results by conducting malicious cyber activities against election infrastructure.”
While acknowledging some probing of state systems, including Illinois voter rolls, the report made clear that none of these attempts came close to affecting ballot counts.
“The targeting of infrastructure not used in casting ballots makes it highly unlikely it would have resulted in altering any state’s official vote,” the memo stated. It further concluded: “Criminal activity also failed to reach the scale and sophistication necessary to change election outcomes.”
Vindication for Trump
For years, President Trump has argued that the Russia collusion story was nothing but a political weapon designed by Democrats to cripple his presidency before it began. These revelations now stand as the clearest vindication yet.
The fallout is intensifying. FBI officials are reportedly preparing the groundwork for a potential criminal investigation into former CIA Director John Brennan, former FBI Director James Comey, and others who drove the Crossfire Hurricane operation.
Meanwhile, a 200-page congressional audit—compiled after a closed-door DOJ and intelligence meeting last weekend—is under review. Officials are weighing whether to declassify even more documents, including notes and transcripts from special counsel John Durham’s investigation, which concluded in 2023 that claims of Trump–Russia ties were baseless.
Accountability Questions Mount
Serious questions are also being raised about whether Brennan perjured himself before Congress by denying the Steele dossier’s role in the intelligence community’s final assessment. While the statute of limitations on perjury may have expired, legal experts note he could still face charges for conspiracy to commit perjury.
One senior official offered a blunt assessment:
“Obama ordered the ICA to set Trump up and knock him off balance before he could even get started. This was an influence operation far more consequential than anything Putin cooked up. Obama and Hillary schemed the op, and the CIA and FBI ran it.”
Comey Indicted
Adding fuel to the fire, former FBI Director James Comey was indicted Thursday by a grand jury for allegedly lying to Congress and obstructing a congressional proceeding. The indictment focuses on testimony he gave on September 30, 2020, in which he denied allowing FBI personnel to serve as anonymous sources—an assertion prosecutors say was false.
Comey has responded defiantly, insisting he is “not afraid” of President Trump’s Justice Department. But the charges, combined with new evidence of Obama-Clinton coordination, paint an increasingly damning picture of how the Russia hoax was orchestrated at the highest levels.
