Schiff Whines About Dems Failures, ‘Lack Of Coordinated Response’ To Trump
California Democrat Sen. Adam Schiff is sounding the alarm — not about President Donald Trump’s sweeping America First agenda, but about his own party’s total lack of leadership and coherence.
In a revealing interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl, Schiff admitted what many Americans already know: the Democratic Party is in complete disarray as Trump, firmly back in the White House, forges ahead with bold policies and real results.
Schiff criticized his party’s disorganized response to President Trump’s State of the Union address, calling the Democrats’ failure to mount a unified rebuttal a strategic blunder.

Instead of addressing Trump’s clear message of economic revitalization, border security, and global strength, Schiff tried to pivot to tired talking points about healthcare and rent — ignoring the very real fact that under Democrat leadership, prices soared, wages stagnated, and working families were crushed.
Schiff also addressed internal criticism from fellow Democrat Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, who recently skewered his own party for a pattern of “self-owns and unhinged petulance.”
“They’re destroying the economy, and they’re making it harder and harder for Americans to afford things,” Schiff claimed — a statement directly contradicted by the Biden-era inflation disaster that voters decisively rejected at the ballot box.
As Democrats flail, some in their ranks, like longtime strategist James Carville, are suggesting they go into full retreat. But Schiff, doubling down, called for more litigation and spin — not new ideas, not leadership, and certainly not accountability.
“We need to be advancing policies… not simply standing back and letting them collapse under their own corrupt weight,” Schiff insisted, referencing President Trump’s administration.
But Americans aren’t buying it.
A devastating new Quinnipiac University poll shows a massive collapse in confidence in congressional Democrats. Among Democrats themselves, 53% disapprove of how their party is handling its business in Congress — just 41% approve. Among all voters, only 21% gave Democrats a passing grade — matching an all-time low since the poll began tracking in 2009.
Meanwhile, support for Republicans remains strong. 79% of GOP voters approve of congressional Republicans’ job performance, with 32% of all voters nationwide expressing approval — a significant lead over their Democrat counterparts.
These numbers reflect the fallout from last November’s political earthquake, when Republicans retook the White House, flipped the Senate, and maintained their control in the House — thanks in part to growing support from black, Hispanic, and young voters, all tired of Democrat failures.

View PlansDespite the media spin, Democrats have no one to blame but themselves. Their refusal to offer meaningful solutions, combined with nonstop infighting and tone-deaf messaging, has turned voters away in droves.
And as President Trump continues to deliver on his second-term promises — restoring law and order, strengthening the economy, and putting America first — the Democrats are left pointing fingers and flailing for relevance.
