SCOTUS Shuts Down Activist Court, Clears Way for Trump to Begin Deportations to Third Party Countries Again
In a resounding win for President Donald Trump and the rule of law, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Monday that the Trump administration can continue deporting illegal aliens to third countries — even if those countries are not their country of origin.
The 6-3 decision, issued by the Court’s constitutionalist majority, removes a major obstacle that had been used by open-border activists to stall or block deportations. Specifically, the justices ruled that illegal immigrants are no longer entitled to delay deportation by presenting speculative claims about potential harm they might face if sent to a third nation, as previously reported by Reuters.
The unsigned majority opinion reversed a lower court ruling that had blocked the deportations. Predictably, the three liberal justices — led by Obama-appointed Justice Sonia Sotomayor — dissented.

It wrongfully deported one plaintiff to Guatemala... Then, in clear violation of a court order, it deported six more to South Sudan, a nation the State Department considers too unsafe for all but its most critical personnel.”
Her dissent, while emotional, underscores the difference in priorities between constitutional originalists and judicial activists: conservatives defend the law, while the Left continues to use the courts to push globalist ideals that undermine American sovereignty.
The case centered on eight illegal immigrants from Myanmar, Cuba, Mexico, Laos, Vietnam, and South Sudan. The administration had designated these individuals as serious threats — “the worst of the worst,” according to the BBC — and removed them last May, despite activist-led legal challenges.
Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin hailed the ruling as a long-overdue correction and a step forward for American citizens.
“DHS can now execute its lawful authority and remove illegal aliens to a country willing to accept them,” she said. “Fire up the deportation planes.”
This marks a crucial moment for President Trump’s second-term immigration agenda, especially as his administration works to meet newly established deportation benchmarks.
More broadly, the ruling serves as a reassurance to conservatives who’ve grown wary of recent judicial decisions that saw some Trump-appointed justices — including Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh, as well as Chief Justice John Roberts — side with their liberal colleagues on high-profile cases.
For now, the court appears to be charting a more faithful course, reasserting the primacy of the Constitution and executive authority.
But this case also serves as a stark reminder of how aggressively the Left is willing to weaponize the judiciary to block enforcement of immigration laws. Activist judges and liberal lawyers have treated courtrooms like political arenas, attempting to delay or derail every step of the Trump administration’s enforcement efforts.

For now, President Trump has secured a crucial legal win that advances border enforcement, strengthens national security, and sends a clear message: America will not be a dumping ground for the world’s lawbreakers.
