Secret Service Agent Makes Alarming Post After Charlie Kirk Tragedy
A social media post attributed to a U.S. Secret Service agent has sparked outrage after appearing to celebrate the assassination of Turning Point USA founder and conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
RealClearPolitics reporter Susan Crabtree highlighted the comments on X, pointing to a Facebook account under the name Anthony Pough, who she identified as a Secret Service agent.
“You can’t circumvent karma, she doesnt leave,” the post read, apparently referencing Kirk’s murder. The same account accused Kirk of “spew[ing] hate and racism on his show.”
As of Thursday, it has not been independently verified whether the account belongs to a current Secret Service agent. Still, Crabtree noted the severity of the remarks.
“The comments are similar to the incendiary remarks now former @MSNBC contributor Matthew Dowd made on the network. The network fired Dowd from his contributorship yesterday for saying ‘hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions.’ MSNBC called Dowd’s comments ‘insensitive and unacceptable’ and ultimately fired him,” Crabtree wrote.
She added that the alleged agent’s post has been circulating among the Secret Service community, drawing sharp criticism from fellow agents. “He appears to be celebrating the death of a political figure, and one whom the president is honoring with the Presidential Medal of Freedom and has often had by his side at events over the last several years,” Crabtree reported.
Her reporting raised an urgent question: “What about other MAGA figures who often appear with Trump — would the agent’s political views prevent him from protecting Trump effectively or anyone who may be targeted while appearing with Trump or another administration official?”

One Secret Service source told Crabtree: “If that’s all it takes to set you off, that’s dangerous to have around.” Another added: “I’m mostly concerned about the morals of a person sworn to protect the rights of others to engage in politics and exercise free speech, celebrating the death of someone exercising those same rights.”
Crabtree further reported that the suspected agent has a history of posting critical comments about President Donald Trump. While the individual is reportedly not assigned to Trump’s protective detail, “all agents, at times, are called off their official details/duties to contribute to presidential coverage of some kind or another,” she noted.
The controversial post also recycled a false accusation, claiming Kirk once said “black women do not have the brain processing power.” Crabtree clarified this stemmed from a July 2023 discussion on Kirk’s program, where several black women themselves acknowledged that affirmative action was key to their careers.
This latest controversy comes as the Secret Service faces broader scrutiny. Just last month, former Secret Service agent Rich Staropoli blasted Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and other Democrats for enabling radical ideology during a discussion on Fox News’ Ingraham Angle about a tragic mass shooting at a Catholic church in Minneapolis.
Staropoli didn’t hold back. “I think you’ve got to start going after this idiot Jacob Frey, right, and his ridiculous, insane ideology with the transgender community here,” he said. “This guy has gone so far out of his way to provide top cover and support for a group of people who are the most mentally unbalanced group of people in the entire world. The left created this shooter.”
The allegation that a current Secret Service agent celebrated Charlie Kirk’s murder only deepens concerns about political bias within the agency tasked with protecting President Trump and America’s leaders.
