SHAKE-UP: Dems Revolt Over Who Trump Just Put in Charge
President Donald J. Trump is reshaping his administration’s leadership team, appointing longtime confidant Dan Scavino to head the powerful Presidential Personnel Office, the entity responsible for staffing and accountability across the federal government.
“Dan Scavino is one of President Trump’s most trusted and longest-serving advisors,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told NOTUS on Tuesday. “There is nobody better to ensure the president’s administration is staffed with the most qualified, competent, and America First-driven workers. There is much still to be done, and Dan’s leadership will ensure the highest quality, most dedicated workforce ever.”
Scavino, whose relationship with President Trump dates back to his days as a golf caddie at Trump National Golf Club in New York’s Hudson Valley, later rose to prominence during Trump’s first term, playing key roles in communications and famously managing the president’s then-Twitter account.
He will replace Sergio Gor, who was tapped last week by President Trump to serve as U.S. ambassador to India and special envoy for South and Central Asian affairs.
“Sergio’s role as Director of Presidential Personnel has been essential to delivering on the unprecedented Mandate that we received from the American People,” Trump announced on Truth Social. “For the most populous Region in the World, it is important that I have someone I can fully trust to deliver on my Agenda and help us, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”
Gor celebrated his new post in a message on X, writing: “It will be the honor of my life to represent the United States!”
Under Gor’s leadership, the Presidential Personnel Office implemented rigorous loyalty screening—ensuring federal hires aligned with President Trump’s vision and filtering out bureaucrats hostile to the America First agenda.
This approach is now expected to continue under Scavino, who has built a reputation as one of Trump’s most steadfast and loyal allies. His elevation signals Trump’s determination to place only reliable America First warriors in key posts as his second term advances.
Scavino’s appointment comes as President Trump’s Justice Department is undertaking a sweeping clean-out of entrenched officials tied to past controversies, including the FBI’s January 6th investigations.
According to Politico, three senior FBI leaders—Brian Driscoll, Steven Jensen, and Walter Giardina—have been dismissed in what insiders describe as a long-overdue purge.
Driscoll, who briefly served as acting FBI director at the start of Trump’s second term, acknowledged his termination in an internal email: “Last night I was informed that tomorrow will be my last day in the FBI… I regret nothing. You are my heroes and I remain in your debt.”
Driscoll had drawn the ire of Trump’s Justice Department after refusing to turn over a full list of Bureau personnel tied to the January 6 investigation. His resistance was seen as emblematic of a deep-state culture of obstruction.
Jensen, who was only recently appointed to lead the Washington Field Office—the central hub of the Jan. 6 probe—also confirmed his dismissal in a letter dated August 8.
The shake-up underscores Trump’s commitment to restoring accountability and ending the weaponization of federal law enforcement.
By installing Scavino at the helm of the Presidential Personnel Office while cleaning house at the DOJ and FBI, President Trump is sending a clear signal: loyalty to the Constitution and to the America First mandate is non-negotiable.
The days of bureaucratic sabotage and politically motivated leaks appear to be numbered.
