Team Trump Shatters Fundraising Goals, Pledges to Protect GOP Majorities

President Donald J. Trump has smashed his ambitious $1.4 billion fundraising target more than a year ahead of schedule, sending shockwaves through the political establishment and setting the stage for a historic Republican offensive in the 2026 midterms.

The colossal war chest—accumulated through a mix of cash on hand and pledged donations to the Republican National Committee and Make America Great Again Inc.—will provide conservatives with an unprecedented financial advantage as they fight to expand their House and Senate majorities.

According to a report in the New York Post, the fundraising milestone fulfills a bold promise made by President Trump shortly after his re-election, when he vowed to use his political might to secure one-party control of Congress and crush the remnants of the radical left.

“You know, in presidential races, they say when you win the presidency, usually the midterms don’t go well?” Trump said earlier this year. “I think we’re going to do great.”

Despite historical trends—where the sitting president's party typically loses ground in Congress—Trump has pledged to rewrite the rules.

“I think we’re going to really increase our margins by a lot,” he told Republican governors in February. “So we’ve got that money, and I got to spend it somewhere… if I can’t spend it on me, I guess that means I’m going to be spending it on some of my friends, right? A lot of my friends.”

With a 219-212 GOP majority in the House, Republican strategists are eyeing several pick-up opportunities—especially in Texas, where redistricting efforts could add up to five new Republican-leaning seats in districts won by Trump by double digits in 2024.

One high-profile casualty of this map shakeup could be Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX), a progressive darling and Squad affiliate who chairs the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Casar is now at risk of losing his foothold in Texas after the release of a new GOP-backed map that carves up his far-left stronghold between San Antonio and Austin.

“The funds streaming in show how much support is behind President Trump,” a source close to the campaign told The Post. “Having the financials to support candidates in the midterms will be a huge advantage.”

Casar, a vocal supporter of defunding police and gutting ICE, won his seat in 2022 with 73% of the vote—thanks in part to endorsements from Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). But with the electoral map turning crimson, his political future is on the chopping block.

Another likely target is Rep. Al Green (D-TX), the 77-year-old radical who was removed from the House chamber during Trump’s 2025 State of the Union address. GOP mapmakers are now dismantling his district entirely, aiming to eliminate one of the Democrats’ most reliably far-left voices in Texas.

Trump’s team has made clear: disloyal Republicans and left-wing extremists alike are in the crosshairs. And with $1.4 billion at their disposal, MAGA Inc. is preparing for war.
