Tesla and GOP HQ Arson Suspect Identified – Background Raises Eyebrows

Another politically charged arson suspect has been identified — and the details are, frankly, hard to ignore.

On Monday, federal authorities revealed the identity of the individual suspected of setting fires at both a Tesla dealership and the Republican Party headquarters in New Mexico. The person in question: 40-year-old Jamison Wagner of Albuquerque.

This time, the suspect isn’t transgender — a point being made in light of patterns some have pointed to in prior politically motivated incidents. Instead, Wagner identifies as a nonbinary bisexual, and his social media presence reflects strong affiliations with LGBTQ+ activism, antifa ideology, and Black Lives Matter.

According to the Department of Justice, Wagner faces arson charges stemming from separate attacks on a Tesla showroom and New Mexico GOP headquarters. “Let this be the final lesson to those taking part in this ongoing wave of political violence,” stated Attorney General Pam Bondi in the DOJ’s release. “We will arrest you, we will prosecute you, and we will not negotiate. Crimes have consequences.

Per court records, the Tesla Albuquerque location was attacked in the early hours of February 9, 2025. Two vehicles were set ablaze, with one sustaining heavy damage. Investigators recovered a makeshift incendiary device resembling napalm, sealed in a glass container, and marked with what appeared to be a hand-drawn “I” or “H”.

Graffiti found on the premises featured phrases such as “Die Elon,” “Tesla Nazi Inc,” and “Die Tesla Nazi,” alongside swastikas and anti-corporate messaging in red and black paint.

It didn’t take long for the suspect’s online presence to come under scrutiny. Wagner has been linked to “500 Queer Scientists,” a group described as a “visibility campaign for LGBTQ+” individuals in STEM. In his profile, he notes: “I am queer and I am an electrical engineer… currently working as an intern for a national lab doing PCB design for x-ray imaging.”

He reportedly uses he/him pronouns and previously co-authored a research paper for Los Alamos National Laboratory, as noted by the Washington Free Beacon.

Other social media platforms — including his Facebook profile, which was still active as of Tuesday — revealed a host of provocative posts and memes. Among them: a police uniform compared to a Klan outfit, a flag with the phrase “No gender only chaos!”, and a Star Trek-themed meme declaring, “Star Trek Made Me Bisexual.”

He also posted graphics stating “All Cops Are B**s” in Klingon, a “Guillotine 2020” image, and one particularly disturbing visual of COVID-19 depicted as Pac-Man devouring MAGA-hat-wearing ghosts, with a ghost of Donald Trump waiting to be “next.”

The recurring theme? A deep disdain for conservative figures, particularly Elon Musk and Donald Trump — something Wagner seemed more than willing to put on display. One image even melded the Starfleet Command insignia with an antifa flag, under the caption “Love Star Trek/Hate Fascism.”

It’s important to emphasize: Wagner’s identity as a queer, nonbinary individual isn’t what led to these alleged acts. The concern, many argue, is how political discourse — often driven by the media — may be fostering a sense of moral extremism. When hatred is legitimized under the guise of justice, violent outcomes, sadly, follow.

While Wagner’s alleged crimes didn’t result in any fatalities, some fear he’ll be quietly supported — or ignored — by sympathetic corners of the press. This is a recurring concern for those critical of how media narratives shift based on ideological alignment.

As one user on X posted, quoting Westworld, a chilling thought remains:
“These violent delights have violent ends.”
