Texas Gifts Trump a Post-Election Prize That Will Kick-Start Monumental Deportation Effort

The state of Texas is extending a pivotal offer to President-elect Donald Trump to kickstart the sweeping deportation initiative he promised for his second term. Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham presented the proposal in a letter sent Tuesday to the incoming 47th president.

Buckingham’s offer involves a 1,402-acre tract of land in Starr County, Texas, located near the southern border. The proposed site could serve as the foundation for a large-scale deportation complex, advancing Trump’s agenda on immigration enforcement.

“Dear President Trump, I am writing to formally offer 1,402 acres of land in Starr County, Texas, to be used to construct deportation facilities,” Buckingham wrote in the letter, as reported by Fox News.

She described the land as an ideal location for processing, detaining, and coordinating what she called “the largest deportation of violent criminals in the nation’s history.”

The land’s strategic position, roughly 35 miles west of McAllen, aligns with Trump’s goals for border security. Buckingham noted that her office is prepared to partner with federal agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), or the United States Border Patrol to develop the facilities.

This parcel of land comes with a controversial history. Previously owned by a woman who opposed border security measures, the property was infamous for harboring criminal activities.

According to Buckingham, trees on the land had been used as “rape trees,” bearing women’s clothing as "trophies" of sexual assaults committed by or against migrants crossing the border.

In her letter, Buckingham did not shy away from criticizing the former owner. “The previous owner had refused to allow the wall to be built and actively blocked law enforcement from accessing the property,” she wrote. “Her actions enabled cartel members and violent criminals to sexually abuse migrant women and children on this land for some time.”

After purchasing the property, Buckingham granted an easement spanning 1.45 miles to facilitate the construction of the Texas Border Wall. This move underscores her commitment to enhancing border security. “I am committed to using every available means at my disposal to gain complete operational security of our border,” she assured Trump.

This offer reflects growing support for Trump’s immigration agenda among key figures in border states. Buckingham’s proposal marks another step toward an ambitious deportation strategy, further fueled by Trump’s appointment of Tom Homan as border czar. Homan, known for his hardline approach during Trump’s first term, will lead efforts to strengthen the border.

Trump’s recent discussions with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum also highlight the urgency of addressing border security. As Trump prioritizes clearing the U.S. of criminal illegal immigrants, this Texas land deal could play a crucial role in realizing his vision for his second term.

The 1,402-acre gift is not just a gesture of support from Texas—it could become a cornerstone of Trump’s legacy in immigration reform and border control.
