‘They’re Idiots!’: Top JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon Shreds Democrats, Warns of Dangerous Far-Left Shift
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon—once a dependable Democratic ally—delivered a blistering rebuke of his own party this week, slamming Democrat leadership as clueless and detached from reality.
Speaking candidly during a foreign-ministry event in Dublin, Ireland, Dimon did not hold back.
“I have a lot of friends who are Democrats, and they’re idiots. I always say they have big hearts and little brains,” Dimon said. “They do not understand how the real world works. Almost every single policy rolled out failed.”
Dimon’s comments sent shockwaves through the corporate and political worlds, as yet another former establishment Democrat voiced frustration with the party’s increasing embrace of bloated bureaucracy and failed progressive policies.
Fox Business anchor David Asman responded during Friday’s broadcast, pointing out the historical irony of Dimon’s remarks.
“Kind of reminds you of what Winston Churchill said long ago: ‘If you’re not a socialist when you’re young, you have no heart. If you’re not a conservative when you are old, you’ve got no brain,’” Asman observed.
This is far from the first time Dimon has sounded the alarm on Democrat dysfunction. During a visit to a Chase branch destroyed in California’s Palisades fire, he took direct aim at the party’s addiction to red tape and overregulation.
“I’d change the name of Red Tape to Blue Tape because it’s the Democrats who seem to want more and more regulations,” Dimon stated. “We need good regulations. We need good food. We need a good financial system. It’s just not more, more and more. And you see it in everything, permitting and licensing.”
He added, “Whether you’re a Democrat or Republican, you should be saying, I want an efficient government.”
Dimon’s remarks come at a time when the Democratic Party is careening even further leftward. Radical elements like the Democratic Socialists of America are seizing momentum—and power.
New York Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old Ugandan-born democratic socialist, recently stunned the political world with his decisive victory over former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and nine others in the Democratic mayoral primary. Mamdani is now poised to become New York City’s first Muslim mayor—bringing the DSA’s socialist platform directly into the national spotlight.
Following the June primary, the DSA made its intentions clear: the movement is only getting started.
“This movement is bigger than one person, election, city, or organization,” the DSA said in a statement.
“We encourage all people inspired by the Zohran campaign to join their local DSA or YDSA chapter and get involved so we can continue to fight alongside Zohran and DSA elected officials across the country to create the future we all deserve.”
Now, those same radical activists are preparing to go after more mainstream Democrats in upcoming primaries—including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Reps. Ritchie Torres, Jerry Nadler, Dan Goldman, and Yvette Clarke.
Jeffries, who took over from Nancy Pelosi two years ago, has become a target of the far left for not being radical enough. New York City’s DSA co-chair Gustavo Gordillo told CNN:
“His leadership has left a vacuum that organizations like DSA are filling. I think that is more important right now.”
Brooklyn state Sen. Jabari Brisport, a fellow socialist and political ally of Mamdani, echoed the sentiment in a statement to Fox News:
“[Jeffries is] rapidly growing out of touch with an insurgent and growing progressive base within his own district that he should pay more attention to.”
Even as President Donald J. Trump continues delivering on promises from his second term—rolling back disastrous leftist mandates and restoring order—Democrat operatives remain obsessed with defeating the very movement that is rescuing the country from ruin.
Democratic strategist Andre Richardson, a senior advisor to Jeffries, repeated the tired talking points, ignoring his party’s radical drift and instead lashing out at President Trump and his America First base.
“Leader Hakeem Jeffries is focused on taking back the House from the MAGA extremists who just ripped health care away from millions of Americans,” Richardson said, offering no evidence for the claim.
But the real extremism is coming from within the Democrat Party itself. And if even Jamie Dimon sees it, the cracks in the left’s foundation may be deeper than they want to admit.
