Calls for arrests are growing louder on Capitol Hill following explosive revelations that former President Barack Obama’s administration may have orchestrated a coordinated scheme to frame Donald J. Trump with false claims of Russian election interference — a conspiracy that some lawmakers now say amounts to treason.

Speaking on Sunday Morning Futures, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) didn’t mince words when describing the alleged criminal conduct involved in what Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has called a “treasonous conspiracy” aimed at derailing President Trump’s first term.

“There needs to be criminal prosecution and arrests. Lying under oath, putting out a false intelligence report — that’s a violation of 18 U.S. Code 1001,” Luna told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo. She noted that convictions under that statute could carry multi-year prison sentences and significant financial penalties.

Luna emphasized that the matter transcends politics: “This is not partisan. This is simply illegal, what they did, and we’re simply upholding the law.”

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), a rising star in the Republican Party and a leading candidate for Florida’s 2026 gubernatorial race, echoed Luna’s outrage during their joint appearance.

“There need to be arrests on this matter. People need to go to jail on this because this is about the republic,” Donalds said. “This is not about one president — it is about the presidency and the continuation of our country.”

The outrage follows stunning disclosures from Director Gabbard, who is continuing to release declassified documents that directly challenge the basis of the so-called “Russia collusion” investigation.

“We will be releasing more detailed information about how exactly this took place,” Gabbard told Bartiromo, “and the extent to which this information was sought to be hidden from the American people, hidden from officials who would be in a position to do something about it.”

She warned that justice is now a matter of national survival. “Accountability, action, prosecution, and indictments for those who are responsible for trying to steal our democracy is essential for us to make sure that this never happens to our country again,” Gabbard said.

Gabbard expressed disbelief that Special Counsels Robert Mueller and John Durham failed to uncover the full scope of the plot.

“I really cannot fathom” how they missed it, Gabbard said. “The only logical conclusion that I can draw in this … is that there was direct intent to cover up the truth about what occurred and who was responsible and the broad network of how this seditious conspiracy was concocted and who exactly was responsible for carrying it out.”

The latest documents released by Gabbard include a September 12, 2016 intelligence assessment from the U.S. intelligence community, which concluded that “foreign adversaries do not have and will probably not obtain the capabilities to successfully execute widespread and undetected cyber attacks” on America’s election infrastructure.

Even more damning is a declassified memo from 2016, addressed directly to then-President Obama, which stated that “Russian and criminal actors did not impact recent US election results by conducting malicious cyber activities against election infrastructure.”

The memo acknowledged unsuccessful attempts to target systems in states like Illinois, but clarified that those systems were never used to cast or count ballots. “The targeting of infrastructure not used in casting ballots makes it highly unlikely it would have resulted in altering any state’s official vote,” the memo states.

It goes further: “Criminal activity also failed to reach the scale and sophistication necessary to change election outcomes.”

These revelations provide the most compelling evidence yet that the entire Crossfire Hurricane probe — the Obama-era investigation into alleged Trump-Russia ties — was based on a knowingly false premise. Trump has long insisted the collusion narrative was a hoax manufactured by the Clinton campaign and propped up by intelligence officials loyal to Obama. The new disclosures prove he was right all along.
