Trump Announces Massive Business Deal As China Visit Wraps Up

President Donald Trump announced that Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to purchase 200 Boeing aircraft during their high-level summit in Beijing, describing the development as a major economic win for the United States and American workers.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sean Hannity of Fox News, President Trump said discussions with Xi were highly productive and resulted in a larger aircraft commitment than even Boeing had anticipated.

“One thing [Xi] agreed to today: he’s going to order 200 jets. That’s a big thing. Boeing — 200 big ones. That’s a lot of jobs. It’s a lot. Boeing wanted 150, he got 200,” Trump said.

Specific terms of the agreement — including aircraft models, pricing, and delivery schedules — were not immediately disclosed.

The reported deal comes during President Trump’s first official trip to China since 2017 and amid growing tensions involving trade, artificial intelligence, Taiwan, and fallout from the conflict involving Iran.

Trump traveled to Beijing alongside a large delegation of Cabinet officials and top American business leaders.

Among those executives was Kelly Ortberg, who previously described the trip as “a meaningful opportunity” for Boeing and American manufacturing.

Ortberg had declined during a recent analyst call to reveal how many aircraft might be included in negotiations but indicated optimism that any broader U.S.-China agreement would likely involve substantial Boeing purchases.

Some reports prior to the summit indicated China was considering acquiring as many as 500 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft as part of future trade arrangements.

The potential order would represent a major boost for Boeing, which has faced years of production problems, regulatory scrutiny, and geopolitical trade complications.

President Trump has repeatedly emphasized large industrial deals and manufacturing expansion as central pillars of his economic agenda during his second term.

Following the summit, President Trump returned to the United States Friday morning and immediately began sharing updates from the trip on Truth Social.

One of the president’s most notable announcements involved plans for the proposed National Garden of American Heroes in Washington, D.C.

“I am proud to announce the site of the NATIONAL GARDEN OF AMERICAN HEROES. This magnificent exhibition of statues will be located in West Potomac Park, which we are transforming into one of the World’s most beautiful public spaces,” Trump wrote.

“Right now, it is a totally BARREN field of Prime Waterfront Real Estate along our Mighty Potomac River,” he added.

“When finished, West Potomac Park will be a World Class Masterpiece with elegant Landscaping, and adorned with Beautiful Statues, and be yet another one of my great projects to make Washington, D.C., the Safest and Most Beautiful Capital in the World,” Trump continued.

The president said the monument park would honor America’s founding fathers, military heroes, religious leaders, civil rights figures, athletes, entertainers, and other historic figures as part of celebrations surrounding the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Trump also revisited another project he has frequently promoted — construction of a new White House ballroom.

“China has a Ballroom, and so should the U.S.A.! It’s under construction, ahead of schedule, and will be the finest facility of its kind anywhere in the U.S.A.,” Trump wrote.

“Thank you for all the support I have been given in getting this project going. Scheduled opening will be around September of 2028. The man I am walking with is President Xi, of China, one of the World’s Great Leaders!” he added.

During their face-to-face meeting in Beijing, President Trump also personally praised Xi, acknowledging that his comments sometimes generate criticism in the United States.

“You are a great leader. I say it to everybody, you are a great leader. Sometimes people don’t like me saying it, but I say it because it’s true. I always say the truth,” Trump told Xi.

The summit overall focused heavily on trade, economic cooperation, Iran, Taiwan, artificial intelligence, and the future direction of relations between the world’s two largest economies.
