Trump DOJ Targets Doctors Who Performed Trans Surgeries on Minors: Over 20 Subpoenas Issued

The Department of Justice under President Donald Trump has launched a sweeping crackdown on medical professionals involved in performing irreversible transgender procedures on minors, issuing more than 20 subpoenas to doctors and clinics across the country.

In a Wednesday press release, the DOJ confirmed, “Today, the Department of Justice announced that it has sent more than 20 subpoenas to doctors and clinics involved in performing transgender medical procedures on children. The Department’s investigations include healthcare fraud, false statements, and more.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi delivered a strong statement, declaring, “Medical professionals and organizations that mutilated children in the service of a warped ideology will be held accountable by this Department of Justice.”

Though the names of the doctors targeted have not been released, the message from the administration is clear: those responsible for these procedures will have to answer for their actions.

The announcement coincided with a Federal Trade Commission workshop on the dangers of so-called “gender-affirming care,” which featured medical experts, psychologists, and individuals who have been deeply harmed by such procedures.

Among the speakers was Claire Abernathy, a young woman who underwent a double mastectomy at just 15 years old and began the process of detransitioning at 18. “My doctors didn’t tell me that hormones would cause permanent side effects,” she said. “They hid those effects from me. They worked to silence me when I tried to complain about this abuse. We need to make sure no more kids are sold products they can’t return.”

Abernathy’s story is not isolated.

Chloe Cole, another young detransitioner turned activist, began “gender-affirming” treatments at age 13. She was placed on puberty blockers, given testosterone, and underwent a double mastectomy—all before realizing, at 16, that she had made a tragic mistake. According to The Stand, Cole said, “I want[ed] to embrace my femininity. I just wanted to have those years back. I wanted to have my body back.”

On Thursday, Cole took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn the medical establishment for promoting these procedures to minors. “‘Gender-affirming care’ is a deceptive, abusive practice,” she wrote. “There has never been a successful transition because it is impossible to change sex. It’s time to hold these clinics and doctors accountable for the lies they sell.”

The Trump administration is finally taking a stand where others have failed. The DOJ’s investigation is a pivotal step toward justice for thousands of children who were misled, manipulated, and permanently harmed by radical ideology disguised as healthcare.

This isn’t care. It’s a betrayal of medical ethics and a mutilation of innocence. The time for accountability is now.
