Trump Faces MAGA Turmoil Over Defense of Pam Bondi Amid Epstein Files Uproar

President Donald J. Trump is weathering one of the most significant internal storms of his second term as MAGA loyalists take to Truth Social in open revolt over his full-throated defense of Attorney General Pam Bondi amidst the Epstein files controversy.

The backlash comes on the heels of Trump’s attempt to quell the uproar surrounding reports that top FBI officials Dan Bongino and Kash Patel are threatening to resign unless Bondi is removed. The friction stems from Bondi’s recent insistence that an Epstein “client list” does not exist—despite her prior claims that such documents were physically in her possession and Trump’s repeated campaign promises to declassify and release them.

In a post on Truth Social, the President wrote:

“We’re on one Team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening. We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD, and ‘selfish people’ are trying to hurt it, all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein.”

He continued,

“Let’s keep it that way, and not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about.”

But the base wasn’t having it. For the first time in recent memory, President Trump’s own Truth Social feed lit up with a barrage of furious comments, many from longtime loyalists expressing disappointment and outright anger.

One commenter, Dewayne Sykes, wrote:

“This is going to cost you so many supporters. I being one of them. I have been to multiple rallies and even was there on J6. This is one of the main things that needs fixed. Our 2 tiered system of justice needs to end.”

Another user, Curtis Jackson, added:

“More gaslighting...I thought you were above this. You'll never hear the end of this if you do not instruct the complete release of the names of those in power in both DC and Hollywood who raped children. Don't become part of the SWAMP that you fought so hard to defeat!”

The concern goes beyond just grassroots frustration. Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly, now an ally of the President after years of animosity, posted on X:

“Sure it’s a relief for Pam Bondi to hear the president is still in her corner. Unfortunately, huge swaths of the party are not. She repeatedly misled on Epstein. Then didn’t have the courage to explain herself. Suddenly, she’s camera shy & no Qs allowed. Good luck!”

One Truth Social user gave a blunt warning:

“You aren't reading the room Mr. President… You said Pam Bondi is doing a fantastic job, your administration is perfect and Epstein is just an Obama distraction. We don't just fall in line.”

President Trump, meanwhile, placed the blame squarely on his political enemies, stating:

“They created the Epstein Files, just like they created the FAKE Hillary Clinton/Christopher Steele Dossier that they used on me, and now my so-called ‘friends’ are playing right into their hands.”
“Why didn’t these Radical Left Lunatics release the Epstein Files? If there was ANYTHING in there that could have hurt the MAGA Movement, why didn’t they use it?”

He named Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, James Comey, John Brennan, and what he called “the Losers and Criminals of the Biden Administration” as the orchestrators behind the narrative.

Still, many supporters remained unmoved, accusing Bondi of deceiving the movement after she previously distributed binders titled “The Epstein Files: Phase 1” to conservative influencers. Others noted that in February, Bondi told Fox News the files were “sitting right now on my desk to review.”

One frustrated commenter fired back:

“She is not doing her forking job. She is hiding the truth about satanic child ritual abuse. How are we supposed to get to the New Golden Age if these scumbags are getting away with their crimes against the children and humanity?”

Another simply demanded: “Bondi should be fired.”

Many were also quick to question inconsistencies in the administration’s narrative. One user asked,

“Then, why is Ghislaine Maxwell in Prison Sr.? The American people need answers to this matter!”

An especially damning accusation came from a supposed longtime MAGA supporter, who wrote:

“We want the guilty to pay. It appears you or a loved one was in on it and you want this to go away. Everyone I know is upset about this and it will kill MAGA. Which we all have supported 100 percent. Please reconsider. Sincerely.”

Even inside the administration, patience appears to be wearing thin.

A senior official at the Justice Department reportedly told the Daily Mail that Bongino will not stay if Bondi remains.

“I don't see a scenario where Dan stays if Bondi remains,” the source revealed.

Meanwhile, Daily Wire journalist Mary Margaret Olohan reported that FBI Director Kash Patel is also weighing resignation if Bondi is not removed.

The rift has exposed a deepening fracture in the MAGA movement—one that cuts across both grassroots and elite ranks. Whether President Trump doubles down or shifts strategy remains to be seen, but this moment represents a rare and visible challenge to his standing within the movement he built.
