In an email aimed at raising funds, the former president cautioned his supporters that he might face imprisonment this week.
"The presumed Republican front-runner for president has entered a not guilty plea to 34 charges of criminal fraud related to altering financial records to conceal payments intended to conceal extramarital affairs," the email stated.
Judge Juan Merchan imposed a gag order during the case, prohibiting Trump from making any disparaging remarks about the witnesses, court personnel, or their families.
Legal experts claim that Trump has repeatedly disregarded the decree, leading government lawyers to seek contempt of court charges against the former president. The Trump campaign announced via email that there would be a hearing on Tuesday.
The subject line of the email blared, "ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE IN 24 HOURS!" and continued, "Friend, in 24 hours, the hearing on my GAG ORDER will begin. I COULD BE THROWN IN JAIL AT THAT VERY MOMENT!"

On criminal accusations related to a 2016 payment of hush money to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, Trump is on trial in New York City.
To increase his chances of winning the 2016 presidential election, Trump entered a not guilty plea in April of last year to a 34-count indictment that accused him of falsifying business documents pertaining to a hush money payment that his then-attorney Michael Cohen made to Daniels.
Trump denied the meeting with Daniels and asserted that the payment was for personal use unrelated to the campaign.
Trump has frequently denounced the criminal prosecution in New York as a politically driven witch hunt and disputes any misconduct.
A Trump lawyer and spokesperson criticized the New York legal system and the people who were prosecuting the president in a purported “hush money” case.
According to Alina Habba, the Biden administration and authorities in the Democratic supermajority state are working together in a “coordinated effort” to weaken the opponent of the incumbent president.
