Trump Makes First Public Comments on Biden's Cancer, Proving He Is Spectacular Class Act
President Donald Trump responded with grace and civility Sunday after reports surfaced that former President Joe Biden is now facing an aggressive and advanced form of prostate cancer.
“Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
“We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery,” the post added.
Biden’s team released a statement confirming the diagnosis late Sunday, revealing that the 82-year-old had been diagnosed with prostate cancer last Friday.
According to The New York Times, the cancer is “characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.” The same statement noted, “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.”
“The president and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians,” the statement said.
The diagnosis followed a hospital visit earlier this month in Philadelphia. Per ABC News, a representative explained, “In a routine physical exam a small nodule was found in the prostate, which necessitated further evaluation.”
This news comes on the heels of a troubled political chapter for Biden. He withdrew from his re-election campaign after a widely criticized debate performance against President Trump. In recent interviews, Biden pushed back against accusations of mental decline that had become more frequent toward the end of his presidency.
“They are wrong,” Biden said during a recent appearance on The View. “There’s nothing to sustain that.”
However, newly released audio paints a far more troubling picture. Axios reported Friday that in a recorded interview with special counsel Robert Hur, Biden “struggled to recall when his son died, when he left office as vice president, what year Donald Trump was elected or why he had classified documents he shouldn’t have had.”
The outlet detailed “long, uncomfortable pauses” and noted Biden was “occasionally slurring words and muttering.” These revelations explain the Biden White House’s decision to withhold the recordings last year amid growing concerns about the former president’s cognitive fitness.
Further intensifying concerns, Axios also reported excerpts from a new book, Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, authored by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios journalist Alex Thompson. The book offers a behind-the-scenes look at just how serious Biden’s health issues had become.
It alleges that top aides were preparing for the possibility that Biden would need to use a wheelchair during a second term if he had secured re-election. His apparent spinal degeneration was reportedly a growing concern.
“Biden’s physical deterioration — most apparent in his halting walk — had become so severe that there were internal discussions about putting the president in a wheelchair, but they couldn’t do so until after the election,” the book stated.
The same source reported that even before a potential second term began, aides were alarmed by Biden’s frequent falls. His physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, allegedly warned that “if he had another bad fall, a wheelchair might be necessary for what could be a difficult recovery.”
While the mainstream media largely ignored or downplayed these issues for much of Biden’s presidency, new developments continue to confirm what many Americans had long suspected — that the nation’s highest office was occupied by a man whose health was rapidly in decline, both physically and mentally.
