Trump Makes Heartbreaking Announcement About His Family After Conviction
Former President Donald Trump has outlined his plans following his guilty verdicts in Manhattan, New York, and discussed the impact of the trial on his family.
“We’re going to be appealing this scam. We’re going to be appealing it on many different things. He [Judge Juan Merchan] wouldn’t allow us to have witnesses, he wouldn’t allow us to talk, he wouldn’t allow us to do anything. The judge was a tyrant,” Trump stated.
“We’re going to fight,” he emphasized. “I’m wired in such a way that a lot of people would have gone away a long time ago. They would have gone away after impeachment hoaxes.”
Trump also expressed his gratitude for the support he has received through campaign donations since the verdict.
“It’s not that it’s pleasant — it’s very bad for family; it’s very bad for friends and businesses, but I’m honored to be involved in it because somebody has to do it, and I might as well keep going and be the one,” he said.
“I’m very honored to be involved because we’re fighting for our Constitution,” Trump continued. “I don’t mind because I’m willing to do whatever I have to do to save our country and to save our Constitution. I don’t mind. This can’t be allowed to happen to other presidents; it should never be allowed to happen in the future. But this is far beyond me. This is bigger than Trump. This is bigger than me.”
“Make America great again,” he added. “Remember November 5.”
On Sunday, Trump spoke with Fox News, discussing the possibility of imprisonment and its potential effects on the country. During the interview, he remarked that a prison sentence could be a “breaking point” for his supporters.
“The legal maze that you’re still facing, and they could, a judge could decide to say, hey, house arrest or even jail. It could be faced,” Fox News host Pete Hegseth mentioned.
“I saw one of my lawyers the other day on television saying, oh, no, you don’t want to do that to the press. I said don’t you don’t beg for anything,” Trump responded.
“That could happen,” Trump acknowledged regarding the possibility of jail time.
“I don’t know that the public would stand it, you know, I don’t. I’m not sure the public would stand for it with a I think I think it would be tough for the public to take, you know at a certain point, there’s a breaking point,” he said.
Trump also commented on the handling of the trial.
“It’s weaponization, and it’s a very dangerous thing. We’ve never had that in this country,” he said.
“People get it. It’s a scam,” he continued. “And the Republican Party… they’ve stuck together in this. They see it’s a weaponization of the Justice Department of the FBI, and that’s all coming out of Washington.”
He further discussed the trial’s effect on his family, including his wife, former first lady Melania Trump.
“She’s fine, but I think it’s very hard for her,” he said. “She has to read all this crap.”
“I think it’s probably in many ways, it’s tougher on my family than it is on me,” Trump added.
Despite the convictions, polling appears unaffected, and Trump has reportedly raised over $53 million following the verdicts, potentially marking one of the most significant backfires in American political history.
