Trump Meets With Team In Situation Room After Israel Strikes Iran
President Donald J. Trump convened the National Security Council in the White House Situation Room on Friday morning following a massive Israeli air assault on Iran that obliterated the Islamic regime’s top military brass and sent shockwaves across the Middle East.
The high-level meeting comes just hours after Israel launched precision strikes that reportedly killed three of Iran’s most powerful military commanders, crippled a key nuclear facility, and wiped out the leadership of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Air Force. In response, Iran attempted a weak retaliatory drone attack, which was swiftly intercepted by Israel.
President Trump did not mince words in a fiery Truth Social post Friday morning, backing Israel’s right to defend itself and warning Tehran that more devastation is on the horizon if it refuses to negotiate.

View Plans“There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end,” Trump wrote. “Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire… JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.”
The president made it clear that Israel’s military capabilities, largely made possible through American defense support, are unmatched—and Iran’s hardline elements are paying the ultimate price.
“Certain Iranian hardliner’s spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse!” Trump declared.
According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), over 100 strategic targets were struck in a sweeping offensive involving 200 fighter jets and 330 munitions. One of the targets: Natanz, the crown jewel of Iran’s nuclear program. The site, critical to Iran’s uranium enrichment, was reportedly devastated.
Among the dead are:
- General Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC
- Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Iran’s top military official
- Gholam-Ali Rashid, Commander of Iran’s Emergency Command
All were reportedly huddled in a fortified underground bunker that was precisely targeted and destroyed.
In an exclusive phone interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier, President Trump confirmed he had prior knowledge of Israel’s preemptive strike and reaffirmed America’s commitment to preventing a nuclear-armed Iran.
“Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb. We’re hoping to get back to the negotiating table,” Trump told Baier.
With U.S. and Iranian diplomats scheduled to meet in Muscat, Oman, for another round of nuclear talks this weekend, the status of those negotiations remains uncertain in light of Iran’s mounting losses.
Despite encouraging Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to consider diplomacy first, Trump also acknowledged the tactical advantage of the strike, hinting that it “might help” negotiations or “might blow it.”
Following the Israeli operation, President Trump confirmed that CENTCOM is at maximum readiness. The U.S. recently resupplied Israel’s Iron Dome system in anticipation of such escalations. The president emphasized that while the U.S. was not involved in the strikes, it will defend itself and Israel if Iran dares to retaliate.

View PlansSecretary of State Marco Rubio stressed that America played no direct role in the Israeli air operation but cautioned Iran against striking U.S. assets or personnel. Non-essential American embassy staff had already been evacuated from Baghdad in anticipation of conflict.
The situation remains fluid, but one thing is certain: under President Donald Trump’s leadership, the United States is not standing down. The message to Iran is unmistakable—choose peace or face obliteration.
