Trump Puts Social Media Rumors to Rest About What He Was Doing In Recent Days

President Donald J. Trump addressed viral online rumors Tuesday that claimed he had either died or fallen seriously ill — rumors fueled in part by his absence from the public schedule late last week.

The gossip spread after Trump’s calendar went blank beginning Wednesday, with CNN reporting that speculation online quickly escalated into claims of poor health or even death.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker attempted to exploit the chatter, sniping on social media, “Why don’t you send everyone proof of life first?” after Trump criticized his disastrous handling of crime in Chicago.

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy pressed Trump directly: “How did you find out over the weekend that you were dead? Did you see that?” Doocy noted the morbid rumor racked up more than 1.3 million online engagements by Saturday morning.

Trump dismissed the conspiracy with his trademark humor.
“Last week, I did numerous news conferences, all successful. They went very well, like this is going very well. And then, I didn’t do any for two days, and they said, ‘There must be something wrong with him,’” Trump said.

He contrasted the media frenzy over two days of quiet with the kid-glove treatment Joe Biden enjoyed during his presidency.
“Biden wouldn’t do them for months. You wouldn’t see him, and nobody ever said there was ever anything wrong,” Trump noted.

The president highlighted his Friday sit-down with The Daily Caller’s Reagan Reese, a 90-minute interview, as further evidence of his health and stamina. He added:
“I was very active over the weekend. … I went out to visit some people at the [golf] club that I own pretty nearby, on the Potomac River. No, I’ve been very active, actually.”

Alongside the false death claims, left-wing users recycled old speculation that Trump is battling congestive heart failure, pointing to photos of minor bruising on his hands and ankle swelling.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt previously explained in July that the bruising came from “frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin,” a blood thinner. She also read from the president’s physician, who confirmed Trump has chronic venous insufficiency, a common condition for older adults that can cause ankle swelling but is not life-threatening.

The physician’s report also confirmed:

  • Normal cardiac structure and function
  • No evidence of heart failure, kidney disease, or systemic illness

Trump’s April medical report underscored his strong health, with vital statistics including: height, weight of 224 pounds, resting heart rate of 62 bpm, blood pressure at 128/74, pulse oximetry of 99% on room air, and a classic temperature of 98.6°F.

Despite being 79, Trump remains active, sharp, and tireless — a stark contrast to Biden, who at the same age appeared frail, incoherent, and often missing in action.
