Trump Redirects Spotlight: “Focus on Clinton, Summers, and the Real Epstein Friends”

President Donald J. Trump on Friday forcefully pushed back against attempts to tie him to Jeffrey Epstein, calling on the media and the American public to examine the well-documented relationships that leading Democrats had with the convicted sex offender.

“They should focus on the fact that Larry Summers from Harvard, that Bill Clinton, who you know very well, and lots of other friends, really close friends of [Epstein], should be spoken about. … And they should speak about them because they don’t speak about them, they talk about me. I had nothing to do with the guy,” President Trump stated before boarding a flight to Scotland.

He doubled down: “But you ought to be speaking about Larry Summers and some of his friends,” while reiterating that he never stepped foot on Epstein’s infamous island — a location alleged to have hosted the trafficking and abuse of underage girls.

Summers, the former Harvard president and a key figure in both the Clinton and Obama administrations, appeared multiple times in Epstein-related documents unsealed in 2023. Records show he met with Epstein at least a dozen times between 2013 and 2016 — years after Epstein's 2008 conviction. Harvard had already stopped accepting donations from Epstein, yet Summers continued the relationship.

Summers later attempted to distance himself, claiming he “deeply regrets being in contact with Epstein after his conviction.” He asserted the meetings were related to his wife’s nonprofit initiative.

That initiative, launched by Summers’ wife, Eliza New — then a Harvard literature professor — aimed to produce poetry education videos. According to the Washington Times, a nonprofit tied to Epstein donated $110,000 to the project in 2016.

Flight records show Summers flew aboard Epstein’s jet, the so-called “Lolita Express,” at least four times. One of those flights occurred in 1998 while he served in the Clinton Treasury Department, and three more followed during his time leading Harvard.

Meanwhile, former President Bill Clinton’s entanglements with Epstein are even more extensive — and visually documented. Photos of the two abound, and court records from the Ghislaine Maxwell case specifically name Clinton.

Though no direct evidence has emerged implicating Clinton in criminal behavior, the testimony from victims is damning. One woman, who also accused Prince Andrew of abuse, stated Epstein once told her that Clinton “likes them young,” a disturbing allegation made under oath.

Maxwell herself, now serving time for her central role in Epstein’s sex trafficking network, confirmed under testimony that Clinton traveled aboard Epstein’s jet, though she did not disclose the number of flights.

Clinton has attempted to downplay the relationship, issuing a 2019 statement claiming his travels on Epstein’s jet were limited to humanitarian missions to Africa — at a time when he publicly praised Epstein as a “philanthropist.” He has claimed ignorance of Epstein’s crimes and noted his Secret Service detail was with him at all times.

The case has resurfaced in recent days as Ghislaine Maxwell reportedly met with officials from the Trump-led Justice Department for nearly nine hours over two days, under a limited immunity arrangement known as proffer immunity. This move suggests potential cooperation in ongoing investigations.

Sources told ABC News that Maxwell herself initiated the meetings with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. The immunity protected her from having her testimony used against her in future proceedings.

Such immunity agreements are usually offered when prosecutors believe a witness may assist in exposing greater criminal conduct.

While corporate media attempts to smear President Trump with guilt by association, the real Epstein ties are glaringly evident among high-level Democrats — from Clinton to Summers to unnamed hedge fund elites. And President Trump just called them out.
