Trump Secures Historic Israel–Hamas Peace Deal, Hostage Release Expected Within Days
In a stunning diplomatic breakthrough, President Donald J. Trump announced that both Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first phase of a peace plan that could end the war in Gaza and bring home Israeli hostages held since the October 7, 2023, terror attack.
“I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social. “This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. All Parties will be treated fairly!”
The president continued, “This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen.”
He concluded with a biblical message: “BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!”
Journalist Eric Daugherty confirmed the development on X (formerly Twitter), writing that the hostage releases may begin by this weekend, possibly coinciding with President Trump’s planned visit to the region.
“Hostages may be released by THIS WEEKEND — when Trump is potentially planning on traveling there, per NewsNation. This is HUGE. It will go down in history,” Daugherty posted.

According to The Washington Post, a senior Hamas official said the agreement was “imminent” and could be formally announced Wednesday night.
“The agreement is very close,” the official stated. “First, there will be a halt to the war, then a prisoner exchange, followed by the withdrawal of forces. After that, the crossing will be opened in both directions, and humanitarian aid will be allowed to enter.”
Sky News also reported that a final deal “could be signed in the next 24 to 36 hours” if negotiations maintain progress.
The deal reportedly includes a phased implementation, beginning with the release of all remaining hostages and a temporary ceasefire.
President Trump confirmed he would travel to the Middle East once the agreement is finalized.
“I may go there sometime toward the end of the week, maybe on Sunday actually, and there’s a very good chance, negotiations are going along very well,” Trump told Sky News Wednesday evening.

The president also noted the broad regional cooperation fueling the deal, saying that “just about everybody” is involved — including several “Muslim and Arab nations.”
A potential visit to Gaza has not been ruled out, though Trump said his first stop will likely be Egypt, where key diplomatic talks are centered.
“I may do that, we haven’t decided exactly. I’ll be going to Egypt most likely, where everyone is gathered right now,” he said. “I’ll be making the rounds, as the expression goes, I probably will.”
Earlier that evening, during a White House roundtable with prominent conservative influencers, Secretary of State Marco Rubio handed the president a note mid-discussion. Moments later, Trump announced to the room:
“I was just given a note by the Secretary of State saying that we’re very close to a deal in the Middle East, and they’re going to need me pretty quickly, so I will take a couple more questions.”
This historic accord — achieved through President Trump’s signature style of direct diplomacy and leverage — marks the most significant step toward Middle East peace in decades. It reflects Trump’s enduring belief that American strength, fairness, and faith can achieve what decades of bureaucratic negotiation could not.
