Trump Selects Prosecutor Who Previously Exposed Biden, Obama, and Clinton — Signals No-Nonsense New Era at DOJ

President Donald J. Trump has appointed a new interim U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York — and his choice is already sending shockwaves through the political establishment. John A. Sarcone III, a veteran attorney from Westchester County and longtime Trump ally, is now positioned to lead one of the nation’s most strategically important federal districts.

Sarcone — unlike the typical D.C. insider prosecutor — has a documented history of calling out corruption and abuse of power among Democratic elites. In a 2022 post on social media, he referred to Joe Biden as a “traitor” and accused him of “treason.” After Biden tweeted that he was “ready to get things done,” Sarcone responded publicly:

“Traitor should be tried for treason. Worst person to occupy the White House.”

Sarcone also previously criticized Barack Obama, saying the former president should be “the first illegal alien deported,” and called for Hillary Clinton to be jailed for treason.

Despite having no prior service as a federal prosecutor, Sarcone did not hold back during Monday’s swearing-in ceremony in Albany. He rejected the notion that prosecutorial success is determined by résumés rather than judgment, experience, and moral clarity.

“I believe the prosecutorial power, and discretion,” he said, “is best entrusted to those with the full breadth of professional and life experiences, from which common sense, wisdom, and informed judgment emerge.”

Sarcone laid out an aggressive agenda, prioritizing national security and public safety — including strengthening enforcement along the U.S.–Canada border, restoring respect for federal law, and rooting out corruption, scams, and consumer fraud. He also put academia on notice, pledging to protect students from ideological intimidation on campus:

“Our reach will not stop at prosecuting those who choose to violate our laws, but also those who knowingly support any violations in any way, shape or form,” he said, according to Syracuse.com.

The announcement came on the same day federal officials executed a major victory in the war against transnational crime. The FBI confirmed the arrest of the top MS-13 leader on the East Coast — one of the most powerful gang figures operating in the United States. The unnamed 24-year-old suspect was captured in Woodbridge, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C.

Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, and senior DOJ official Emil Bove monitored the mission from a tactical operations center.

“Early this morning, one of the top leaders of MS-13 was apprehended. He was the leader for the East Coast, one of the top three in the entire country, right here in Virginia … He is an illegal alien from El Salvador — and he will not be living in our country much longer,” Bondi declared.

“They executed a clean, safe operation, and the bad guys in custody. And thanks to the FBI, we got one of the worst of the worst of the MS-13 off the streets this morning. Virginia and the country is a lot safer today,” Bondi said.

Bondi credited President Trump’s border and security policies for turning the tide against cartel-linked gang networks.

“From the second Donald Trump took office, he said he is going to make America safe. He shut down our borders and now it’s our job to get these people out of our country… We will not have another Laken Riley,” Bondi added.

“Arrests have increased 468% from the same period last year. We didn’t need new laws, as President Trump always says — we needed a new president,” she continued. “America is safer today because one of the top domestic terrorists in MS-13, he is off the streets. This has been an ongoing directive of President Trump. His directive to me when I became Attorney General of the United States was very simple: Keep America safe.”

Patel echoed the message:

“This task force is going to go everywhere as needed, across the United States to bring the form of justice and measured security and safety that our American citizens deserve… If you are going to continue to commit acts of violent crime, you will meet the same fate that this individual did this morning.”

With Sarcone now leading one of the country’s highest-priority U.S. Attorney districts — combined with federal law enforcement’s renewed authority under President Trump — the Department of Justice appears to be entering an era focused not on politics, but on law, order, and uncompromising accountability.
