Trump Squashes Rumors About Barron Struggling At College
President Donald J. Trump just put an end to the swirling rumors surrounding his youngest son, Barron Trump, as the 19-year-old continues his studies at New York University’s prestigious Stern School of Business.
For weeks, left-wing gossip blogs and liberal media outlets had been circulating baseless claims that Barron was “struggling” in college or had been the subject of campus ridicule since his father’s return to the White House. Some even pushed an absurd story about the Secret Service allegedly closing an entire floor of Trump Tower for one of his dates.
But during a relaxed golf outing with his granddaughter Kai Trump, the president addressed the rumors head-on — with the calm confidence of a proud father.
In a lighthearted video shared by Kai on her YouTube channel, Trump was seen driving a golf cart when Kai asked, “How’s Barron doing at NYU?”
“Good, he’s doing good,” the president replied with a smile.
“He’s a good boy. He loves you,” Trump added, before recalling that Barron had told him, “Say hello to Kai’s dad.”
When Kai asked if school had started again, Trump confirmed, “Yeah, he starts on Tuesday.”
The short exchange was a simple but powerful moment — the president casually swatting away the media’s latest attempt to drag his family into another fabricated “controversy.”
That didn’t stop liberal tabloids from doubling down. The Daily Mail reported that Barron “closed down an entire floor of Trump Tower” for a date — an unverified claim a supposed classmate described as “awkward but charming.” The story, like many before it, lacked any evidence.
Then came another smear campaign — this time falsely alleging that Barron had been rejected from Harvard University following his father’s decision to strip the Ivy League school of federal contracts over its defiance of a Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action and his executive order banning DEI programs.
The rumor spread like wildfire across social media, fueled by Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, who posted on X:
“Can’t help but wonder how many Trumps got rejected by Harvard.”
But First Lady Melania Trump wasn’t having it. Her office released a rare, pointed statement through communications director Nicholas Clemens to shut the story down entirely:
“Barron did not apply to Harvard, and any assertion that he, or that anyone on his behalf, applied is completely false.”
The Ivy League school’s rejection rate hovers around 96 percent — but in this case, there was never even an application to reject.
Barron, who has deliberately kept a low profile throughout his father’s political career, has instead chosen to focus on his studies in business at NYU’s Stern School, charting his own course rather than following in the footsteps of his siblings and father, who attended the University of Pennsylvania.
The episode serves as another reminder of how far the legacy media and online rumor mills will go to attack anyone bearing the Trump name — even a college student trying to live a normal life.
But as President Trump made clear, his son is doing just fine — thriving, in fact — despite the relentless noise.
“He’s doing good,” the president said. And that’s all that needs to be said.
