Trump to Receive Annual Physical Exam on Friday

Former President Donald Trump announced that he will undergo his annual medical examination this Friday at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

“I am pleased to report that my long scheduled Annual Physical Examination will be done at Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Friday of this week,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “I have never felt better, but nevertheless, these things must be done!”

It's customary for presidents to receive their yearly physicals at Walter Reed in Maryland, with the White House doctor typically releasing the results afterward, according to The Hill.

Trump, who turns 79 in June, would be 82 by the conclusion of another term—edging out former President Biden as the oldest individual to serve in the role by just a few months.

Since leaving the White House in 2020, Trump has shared limited details about his health.

In November 2023, his campaign released a letter from his physician declaring that the former president was in “excellent health.”

This health update arrives as Trump’s approval numbers have surged to near-record highs, despite several days of backlash from Democrats, establishment Republicans, and major media outlets following his aggressive trade policies.

A recent survey by J.L. Partners, conducted in partnership with the Daily Mail between March 31 and April 3 with 1,000 registered voters, shows that Trump’s support increased even after imposing broad tariffs on multiple global trade partners on April 2.

The poll shows Trump’s approval rating climbing to 53 percent—up four points from last week’s 49 percent. The Daily Mail described this increase as “surprising,” especially given the heavy criticism and stock market turbulence on Thursday and Friday.

Support among young voters aged 18 to 29 has jumped significantly—by 13 points—since March 7.

This momentum builds on Trump’s performance in the last election, when that same demographic shifted 10 points in his favor compared to their strong backing of Biden in 2020.

The study also found a six-point increase in his approval among Democrats and independents. Among black voters, Trump’s favorability rose by 17 points compared to the previous week.

As Trump nears his 100th day in office, many business leaders and job market insiders are offering positive assessments, expressing optimism that the economy “can win now,” even if it hasn’t “started to win yet.”

“I would give President Trump, right now, a pretty solid B+,” said TaChelle Lawson, founder of FIG Strategy & Consulting and a contributor to the Freedom Economy Index (FEI), in an interview with Fox News Digital.

“He came in with a very clear plan, and that was focusing on economics. He’s definitely putting business first, trimming the fat. That’s something that small business owners, business operators understand and respect. I think that it’s clear that his focus is on American business,” Lawson added. “I do, however, think that the messaging could use a little bit of work.”

Lawson was among over 50,000 small business participants in the latest RedBalloon and PublicSquare quarterly survey. According to Fox Business, more than two-thirds of those surveyed now anticipate either “slow” or “robust” economic growth this year—marking a complete shift from previous pessimism.

RedBalloon CEO Andrew Crapuchettes told Fox: “What we’re seeing right now is we have a very sick economy, and it needs some very strong medicine. And if it gets that medicine, we all feel like we have a very strong economy that will win and will actually be a huge blessing to the entire world.”

“Because when the U.S. economy is strong, when small businesses in the U.S. economy are strong, we feel like we can have a disproportionate and positive impact on the entire planet,” he continued. “There’s a lot of good work that’s being done, but that work still needs to be done for the economy to actually get better.”

PublicSquare CEO Michael Seifert also commented on the current administration’s efforts: “These small businesses are now feeling like we’re coming up on the 100-day mark of Trump’s presidency. They love the fact that one of the things that President Trump and this administration more broadly is tackling is the overregulation, the red tape seeded in bureaucracy that seeks to stifle business growth.”
