Trump Warns Iran Any Ships Attempting to Violate Blockade Will Be ‘ELIMINATED’
President Donald J. Trump delivered a forceful warning Monday morning, making clear that any Iranian vessel attempting to breach a newly established U.S. blockade would face immediate and decisive destruction.
The announcement came just minutes after the administration moved to block the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping corridor long threatened by Tehran’s destabilizing behavior.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump underscored the overwhelming success of recent U.S. military operations while issuing a stark ultimatum:
“Iran’s Navy is laying at the bottom of the sea, completely obliterated – 158 ships. What we have not hit are their small number of, what they call, ‘fast attack ships,’ because we did not consider them much of a threat,” Trump posted. “Warning: If any of these ships come anywhere close to our BLOCKADE, they will be immediately ELIMINATED, using the same system of kill that we use against the drug dealers on boats at Sea.”
He continued:
“It is quick and brutal. P.S. 98.2% of Drugs coming into the U.S. by Ocean or Sea have STOPPED! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
The president’s remarks reflect a broader strategy rooted in deterrence and the restoration of American dominance over critical international waterways. Trump has increasingly framed Iran as a weakened actor attempting to leverage global shipping lanes as a last-ditch bargaining chip.
“The Iranians don’t seem to realize they have no cards, other than a short-term extortion of the World by using International Waterways,” Trump wrote on TRUTH Social.
The Strait of Hormuz, through which a substantial share of the world’s oil supply flows, has long been a flashpoint for tensions. Under Trump’s leadership, the United States has taken aggressive steps to ensure that hostile regimes cannot hold the global economy hostage.
“The only reason they are alive today is to negotiate!” Trump added.
Doubling down, the president detailed the extent of Iran’s degraded military capabilities:
“Their Navy is gone, their Air Force is gone, their Anti Aircraft apparatus is nonexistent, Radar is dead.”
He further noted that Iran’s missile and drone infrastructure has been “largely obliterated,” emphasizing that the regime’s ability to project force has been severely crippled.
Meanwhile, the administration is pairing military strength with diplomatic engagement. A senior U.S. delegation led by Vice President JD Vance—alongside Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and senior adviser Jared Kushner—is preparing for high-stakes talks with Iranian officials in Pakistan later this week.
Very cool seeing the wave of empty tankers heading to the US to pick up some desperately needed crude for Hormuz-starved markets.

Trump signaled that even Iran’s remaining asymmetric threats are rapidly diminishing:
“The only thing they have going is the threat that a ship may ‘bunk’ into one of their sea mines,” he wrote, adding that “all 28 of their mine dropper boats are also lying at the bottom of the sea.”
At the same time, the U.S. has begun securing the waterway for international commerce:
“We’re now starting the process of clearing out the Strait of Hormuz as a favor to Countries all over the World,” Trump said, listing China, Japan, South Korea, France, and Germany.
The president also pointed to renewed energy momentum, noting that multiple large oil tankers are already heading to the United States “to LOAD UP with Oil,” reinforcing America’s commitment to energy independence and global stability.
Back home, some Democrats and media figures have faced criticism for what allies of the administration describe as soft-pedaling Iran’s long record of aggression.
Sen. John Fetterman pushed back during an appearance with Fox News host Jesse Watters, arguing that the media has lost perspective:
“I can’t speak for my other Democrats, but the American media has, essentially, become — carrying water for Iran,” Fetterman said. “And they’re describing the kinds of circumstances, then they forget the way Iran has behaved.
“And why can’t we just call what Iran has been — and what it continues to do, those things? America is the force of good in the world, and holding Iran accountable, what they’ve done, is important,” he said.
Fetterman has previously defended U.S. military actions against Iran, including during a tense exchange with CNN host Kaitlan Collins, where he forcefully rejected attempts to downplay the regime’s conduct.
As tensions rise, the Trump administration’s approach is becoming increasingly clear: peace through strength, backed by decisive action and an unwavering commitment to protecting American interests and global commerce.
