Unfazed and Undeterred: U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro Hits Would-Be Assassin with Federal Charges Following WHCD Attack

The radical left’s violent rhetoric continues to manifest in dangerous ways, but the Trump administration is sending a clear message: lawlessness will be met with the full force of American justice.

U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro has officially announced federal charges against the gunman who attempted to shatter the peace of Saturday night’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Cole Allen of Torrance, California, opened fire in a heinous attempt to target President Donald J. Trump during his historic second term.

Thanks to the swift intervention of the Secret Service and local law enforcement, the President, First Lady Melania Trump, and several Cabinet members were safely evacuated. While the event was intended to be a rare moment of civic tradition—marking the first time President Trump addressed the dinner during either of his terms—it instead became a testament to the bravery of our men and women in uniform.

The Charges: Accountability for Political Violence

During a press briefing, Pirro confirmed that the would-be assassin is being held accountable for his cowardly actions. Pirro told reporters the would-be assassin is “charged with two counts,” “using a firearm during a crime of violence” and “assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon.”

While the President remained unharmed, the attack was not without a victim. A uniformed Secret Service officer was struck by gunfire while standing the line between the President and a domestic terrorist.

“Now, as you all know, there was an individual, a uniformed Secret Service officer, who was shot, and fortunately, he is doing alright and he will be fine,” Pirro added, highlighting the resilience of those who protect our constitutional leaders.

A Failed Mission of Malice

The investigation into the California man suggests a calculated attempt to inflict mass casualties within the ballroom. Pirro noted that based on the available evidence, it is clear that the suspect “was intent on doing as much harm and as much damage as he could.”

The carnage was only prevented by the stringent security protocols that the current administration has championed to maintain national sovereignty and public safety.

“And thankfully, because of the checkpoint right outside the ballroom where thousands of people were situated to hear the President of the United States — because that checkpoint worked, there was no one who was injured when it was clear where this defendant was going,” Pirro continued.

First-Hand Witness to Heroism

Pirro, the former Fox News host turned U.S. Attorney, was not merely acting as a prosecutor in this instance; she was a witness. Like many high-ranking officials in the Trump administration, she was in attendance when the shots rang out.

“I, for the first time, was in a situation where there were shots fired, shots heard, and a whole room went silent. When I lifted my head and when I looked up, every law enforcement officer was out there as we all had our heads down,” Pirro recalled.

In a moment that defined the contrast between those who seek to destroy our institutions and those who preserve them, Pirro praised the sea of officers who rushed toward the danger.

“Thousands of them. These are the men and women every day who do what they do silently, and they do it with courage and with dignity.”

As the legal proceedings against Allen begin, the Trump administration remains focused on its mandate to restore law and order, ensuring that those who use violence to subvert the will of the American people find no quarter in this country.
