Vance Says UFOs May Not Be Aliens, Promises Review Of Government Files
Vice President JD Vance is offering a striking perspective on one of the most debated mysteries in modern public discourse—suggesting that so-called UFO phenomena may have a far more spiritual explanation than many assume.
In an interview with conservative podcaster Benny Johnson, Vance addressed growing public interest in the potential release of government files related to unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). The vice president confirmed that the administration is actively working to declassify and share more information with the American people.
“Ah, we’re workin’ on it,” Vance said. “I was obsessed with the UFO files when I got into office, but I’ve been busy.”
Despite his packed schedule, Vance made clear the issue remains on his radar.
“I will get to the bottom of it,” he said.
However, it was his personal interpretation that drew the most attention—offering a worldview grounded not in science fiction, but in faith.
“I don’t think they’re aliens. I think they’re demons anyway,” Vance said.
When asked to elaborate, Vance pointed to the long-standing role of religion in explaining phenomena that defy conventional understanding.
“Well, look, I think that celestial beings who fly around, who do weird things to people — I think that the desire to describe everything celestial… to describe it as aliens — I mean every great world religion, including Christianity, the one that I believe in, has understood that there are weird things out there, and there are things that are very difficult to explain,” Vance said.
“And I naturally go — when I hear about, sort of, extra-natural phenomenon — that’s where I go to is the Christian understanding that, you know, there’s a lotta good out there, but there’s also some evil out there,” he added.

Vance further emphasized the spiritual dimension of his viewpoint, invoking a broader theological perspective.
“One of the devil’s great tricks is to convince people he never existed,” he said.
The remarks come as President Donald J. Trump moves forward with efforts to bring greater transparency to long-classified government records. The administration has directed federal agencies to begin identifying and preparing files related to UFOs, UAP, and potential extraterrestrial encounters for public release.

“Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs),” Trump said in a statement.
While no official timeline has been announced, administration officials say the review process is actively underway, signaling a renewed commitment to transparency on an issue that has captivated Americans for decades.
As the debate continues, Vance’s comments reflect a perspective shared by many Americans who view unexplained phenomena not just through a scientific lens, but also through the enduring framework of faith and spiritual belief.
