Watch: Alligator Alcatraz Inmate Describes Grueling Conditions - No Illegal in His Right Mind Would Want to Go There
A Cuban national with a criminal record is complaining about the conditions at a Florida ICE detention center, even after being arrested for battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon—an act of violence that landed him in custody in the first place.
Leamsy Izquierdo, also known as “La Figura,” is currently detained at a recently constructed ICE facility nicknamed “Alligator Alcatraz,” located deep in the Florida Everglades. Izquierdo, an illegal alien, told Telemundo 51 that conditions in the center were beneath his standards, alleging that:

His partner, Katia, told Telemundo:
“I don’t think it’s humane to have people in those conditions.”

But let’s not forget the actual reason Izquierdo is in custody—not for jaywalking, but for attacking a tow truck worker with a deadly weapon after they attempted to repossess his jet ski, according to a police report. That’s right—he’s not just in the country illegally; he’s also been charged with a violent felony.
If you’re an illegal alien caught assaulting someone over a luxury toy you didn’t pay for, maybe don’t expect accommodations fit for a beachfront resort.
Alligator Alcatraz, the ICE facility in question, is operated by the state of Florida and sits in a remote, alligator-heavy region of the Everglades. It’s specifically designed to house criminal aliens who pose a risk to the public—a group Izquierdo now clearly belongs to.
I don’t want to hear a single word—or see another outrage post—from Democrats about “Alligator Alcatraz.” These are the same people who turned a blind eye when Obama built the cages for illegals and Biden continued using them during his own presidency.

Even if some of Izquierdo’s claims have a sliver of truth, his credibility crumbled the moment he tried to claim mosquitoes were “the size of elephants.” That’s not a legitimate human rights complaint; it’s a bad comedy sketch.
More importantly, American taxpayers are footing the bill for the food, shelter, and air conditioning that Izquierdo and thousands of other illegal aliens receive. Meanwhile, millions of U.S. citizens—including veterans—live on the streets, endure the elements, and dig through trash for meals in cities like New York and San Francisco.

Where is the left’s outrage for homeless Americans?
It’s predictable, but still disgraceful, that Democrats and progressive activists are already framing Izquierdo’s story as a humanitarian crisis under President Trump’s second-term immigration enforcement policies. But the very same people were eerily silent in 2021 when migrants were held in Obama-era chain-link holding pens under Biden’s watch.

As one user on X put it:
“They only pretend to care now because it serves their anti-Trump agenda.”
The truth is simple: immigration enforcement is not supposed to be comfortable. Detention centers are not hotels. And those who cross our borders illegally and commit violent crimes should not expect spa-level service while the American people bear the burden of their lawlessness.

80,000 people experience homelessness on any given night in New York.
This number has been increasing in recent years and is now higher than it has been in decades.

President Trump’s administration has made it clear—foreign criminals are no longer coddled. This isn’t about cruelty. It’s about restoring law, order, and national sovereignty.
