Watch: DA Reads Text Messages That Make Suspected Charlie Kirk Assassin's Motive Clear

The investigation into the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk took a chilling turn Tuesday after prosecutors revealed that the suspected shooter, Tyler Robinson, confessed in private text messages to his transgender romantic partner.

Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray read the exchanges aloud during a press conference, citing text messages Robinson sent to his live-in partner, Lance Twiggs.

“Robinson: Why did I do it?” Gray read from the messages.

“Twiggs: Yeah.”

“Robinson: I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out. If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence. Going to attempt to retrieve it again, hopefully they have moved on. I haven’t seen anything about them finding it.”

Twiggs pressed him further:

“Twiggs: How long have you been planning this?”

“Robinson: A bit over a week I believe,” Gray said, quoting the messages.

Gray also revealed that Robinson’s parents had raised concerns before the shooting, noticing their son’s radical political shift in recent years.

“Robinson’s mother explained that over the last year or so, Robinson had become more political and had started to lean more to the left, becoming more pro-gay and trans-rights oriented,” Gray said.

The county attorney also said Robinson began dating Twiggs — “a biological male who was transitioning genders” — and frequently accused Kirk of “spreading hate.” In one conversation with his parents, Robinson reportedly stated, “There is too much evil and the guy spreads too much hate.”

Newly unsealed charging documents add further weight to the case. On the day Kirk was killed, Robinson texted Twiggs, “drop what you are doing, look under my keyboard.” Twiggs then discovered a written note declaring: “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”

Attorney Gray announced he would pursue the death penalty against the 22-year-old Robinson, calling Kirk’s murder “an American tragedy.”

“I do not take this decision lightly,” Gray emphasized.

The revelations confirm what many conservatives have long warned: left-wing radicalization, combined with pro-trans activism, fueled a targeted political killing of one of America’s most influential conservative voices.
