Watch: Even Joe Scarborough Comes to Trump's Defense on DC Crime, Shares Lib Friend's Blunt Message of Support, Too

President Donald J. Trump’s push to restore law and order in Washington, D.C., just got an unexpected nod from one of the left’s most prominent media figures — MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough.

On Tuesday, a clip circulated on X (formerly Twitter) showing Scarborough reading a message from an anonymous liberal friend in the nation’s capital who, despite opposing Trump politically, sees merit in his plan to deploy the National Guard to curb D.C.’s spiraling crime crisis.

“I want to read you a text from someone who — I won’t say their name — but, we’ll just say that they’re very liberal, and he says, ‘This may sound controversial, but I’m not totally opposed to Trump’s National Guard move in D.C. I know he’s doing it for politics, but crime remains rampant,’” Scarborough read on air.

The message continued: “‘I’ve had too many friends carjacked, shot at. None of us will walk more than three blocks after 8 p.m. Thirteen year olds are committing many of these crimes, quite a change from a decade ago when things were much calmer.’”

Scarborough admitted the description was all too familiar. “Well that actually sounds like the D.C. that I lived in when I lived a block behind the Supreme Court and, you know, every three days one of my neighbors was getting held up at gunpoint. There has been a crime problem in D.C.”

Social media reaction was swift. One user wrote, “It’s heartening to hear a liberal voice this truth so clearly. Crime doesn’t discriminate based on political lines, and it’s refreshing to see this issue approached without polarization. Safety should unite us all, regardless of our affiliations.” Another bluntly summed it up: “They voted for the chaos, but will publicly vilify the administration who tries to bail them out of it. Classic Dem behavior.”

The reality is stark — when liberals suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome begin agreeing with the president they’ve spent years attacking, the situation has reached a tipping point. D.C.’s unchecked violence has made even the president’s most ardent critics admit the need for his decisive leadership.

Scarborough himself isn’t likely to sport a MAGA hat anytime soon. But his post-election visit to Mar-a-Lago last year and his recent candor suggest he may be inching away from the reflexive anti-Trump narrative that dominates MSNBC.

With over three years left in his second term, President Trump has made it clear that restoring public safety — in D.C. and across America — is non-negotiable. Even in deep-blue strongholds, the message is breaking through: law and order isn’t partisan. It’s survival.
