Watch: Furious Dems Demand to Know Guest List for Mysterious Trump Golf Club Meeting
A private dinner hosted by President Donald Trump has sparked fresh outrage among Democrat lawmakers — though their selective outrage raises more questions than answers.
On Thursday evening, President Trump held an invitation-only gathering for supporters and major backers of his $TRUMP crypto coin project at the Trump National Golf Club in Washington, D.C. The event, which brought together approximately 220 key investors, has triggered a flurry of demands from top Democrats for the identities of those in attendance — despite no evidence of wrongdoing.
The president, a vocal supporter of cryptocurrency innovation and decentralization, treated his guests to a high-end meal featuring filet mignon and halibut, according to the Associated Press.

View PlansYet, what was a routine private political event — not unlike countless Democrat fundraisers in Hollywood or Silicon Valley — quickly became the latest target of partisan theatrics. Prominent Democrat senators including Chris Murphy, Elizabeth Warren, and Richard Blumenthal wasted no time calling a press conference, leveling accusations and lobbing familiar, over-the-top rhetoric at the president.
“This is the most corrupt White House in the history of the country,” Sen. Murphy fumed, further stating, “Just because the corruption is playing out in public, where everyone can see it, doesn’t mean that it isn’t rampant, rapacious corruption.”
Murphy continued, “And what is happening tonight, this private, secret dinner, in which individuals who have put money in Donald Trump’s pocket get access to him, is maybe the most corrupt of all the corruption.”
Curiously, the same Democrats who are now demanding “transparency” had little to say when allegations emerged that Hunter Biden — the now-infamous son of former Vice President Joe Biden — leveraged his family name to strike lucrative deals overseas. Though Hunter was eventually pardoned, questions linger over whether he sold access to his father during his time in office.
Even more conspicuous was the Democrats' silence when Hunter turned to art in his 50s, almost overnight commanding six-figure sales for amateur paintings sold to undisclosed buyers — many of whom were suspected of paying for proximity to the Biden name rather than artistic talent.
Nevertheless, Democrats like Murphy now appear deeply concerned about the integrity of a private event held by a sitting president — despite having tolerated or excused far more questionable behavior from within their own ranks.
Murphy also took aim at the president’s association with cryptocurrency itself, attempting to discredit the $TRUMP coin as “effectively worthless” and accusing President Trump of artificially boosting its value.
“It’s not hard to inflate demand for a product that doesn’t have any value when you’re President of the United States and you have command of nearly infinite resources given to you by the taxpayers,” Murphy said, implying — without evidence — that Trump was manipulating markets for personal gain.
Doubling down on the attacks, Murphy claimed the anonymity of the investor list left the door open for nefarious actors to gain influence over the president.
He finished with a moving of the goalposts: “Even if you release the names, it’s still corrupt,” he said. “But at least let us see who’s going to be there. At least, let the American people know who has bought access to the president. Release the names.”

What Democrats failed to address, however, is that protecting the privacy of crypto investors isn’t just prudent — it may be necessary. In an era where cybercrime is rampant, publishing a list of wealthy digital asset holders would be a gift to hackers and scammers.

View PlansMore to the point, the outrage from the left appears less about ethics and more about maintaining their long-standing political opposition to Trump. As Axios noted, Democrats continue to push legislation that would ban government officials and their families — including President Trump’s — from holding any form of cryptocurrency.
As usual, when it comes to Trump, it’s not about principles. It’s about politics.
