Watch: Kamala Harris Delivers Another Word-Salad While Dodging Accountability on Epstein Files

Former Vice President Kamala Harris has resurfaced — and in typical fashion, she’s making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Her latest national appearance came Wednesday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, where she effortlessly slid back into her habit of offering meandering, logically vacant answers to even the simplest questions.

As CNN reported, Kimmel pressed Harris about the long-awaited files connected to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Under a new federal law, the Department of Justice must release the records by Friday. For most public officials, this would be a straightforward moment to support transparency. For Harris, it became yet another opportunity to rehearse her favorite talking points — and attack the current President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.

Kimmel asked her directly about President Trump’s role in the release of the files.

“The Epstein files are supposed to be released on Friday. Do you believe we will see the entirety of those files?” Kimmel asked.

Harris immediately pivoted into partisan rhetoric, insisting that Trump’s conduct was “criminal” while simultaneously claiming that the DOJ operates independently from the executive branch — a talking point she has leaned on repeatedly, despite mountains of evidence to the contrary.

“What he has done to treat the Department of Justice as his personal law firm is criminal in proportion to what it’s supposed to be, and that is, it supposed to be an independent body that does justice blindfolded, in terms of for whom.”

She went on to say that the DOJ must work without “favor or fear,” adding that she wasn’t sure the Trump DOJ would release the files. But then came the question she couldn’t dodge — although she certainly tried.

Kimmel pressed the obvious point: If she and former President Joe Biden supposedly respected DOJ independence, then why didn’t they release the Epstein files years earlier?

“Why didn’t the Biden administration release those files? … Why didn’t they come out during your administration?” Kimmel asked.

Harris replied with yet another circular non-answer:

**“We strongly and rightly believed that there should be an absolute separation between what we wanted as an administration and what the Department of Justice did. We absolutely adhered to that, and it was right to do that.

“The Justice Department would make its decisions independent of any political or personal vendetta or concern that we may have, and that’s the way it worked.”**

The problem? Her explanation collapses under the weight of recent evidence — evidence released just one day earlier.

On Tuesday, Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley published documents revealing that in 2022, the FBI initially believed there was no probable cause to raid President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida.

Those documents also confirm that the Biden-Harris DOJ pushed aggressively for the raid to proceed anyway. In other words, the very administration Harris insisted respected DOJ independence actually pressured federal law enforcement into targeting their chief political rival.

That makes Harris’s answer on Kimmel not just clumsy — but objectively false.

For someone who has spent decades in Washington, Harris still manages to demonstrate a stunning lack of political instinct. She had to know Grassley’s revelations were already public. Yet she still doubled down on a narrative that has been thoroughly discredited.

Democrats’ sudden interest in the Epstein files has nothing to do with transparency or justice. It has everything to do with trying to extract political mileage by attacking President Trump—especially now that they sense they missed their chance to act when they controlled the White House.
