Watch: Kamala Harris Stumbles When Asked About Her Own Policy in Awkward Exchange with Press - 'It Pays for Itself'
When Vice President Kamala Harris occasionally engages with the press, she often reinforces the prevailing view that she lacks the substance required for leadership.
During a campaign stop on Sunday in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, Harris struggled to articulate her economic policies — and, even more troubling, how she intends to fund them.
A reporter asked her to “explain how you are going to pay for those [programs]. And can you give us a sense of what other policies you want to unveil moving forward?”
True to form, Harris sidestepped the question and delivered a confusing response.
“Sure, well, I mean, you just look at it in terms of what we are talking about, for example, around children and the child tax credit and extending the EITC [Earned Income Tax Credit],” she replied.
She continued: “That, it’s at $6,000 for the first year of a child’s life. The return on that investment in terms of what that will do and what it will pay for will be tremendous. We’ve seen it when we did it for the first year of our administration. We reduced child poverty by over 50 percent, so that’s a lot of the work.”
However, this claim is inaccurate. According to the nonpartisan Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, the child poverty rate actually more than doubled, rising from a historic low of 5.2 percent in 2021 to 12.4 percent in 2022.
Harris continued: “And then, what we’re doing in terms of the tax credit — we know that there’s a great return on that investment. When we increase home ownership in America, what that means in terms of increasing the tax base — not to mention the property tax base, what that does to fund schools — again, return on investment.”
Um, what?
The Democratic nominee for president then seemed to concede that she lacks a clear plan for financing her so-called "communist" initiatives.
“I think it’s a mistake for any person who talks about public policy to not critically evaluate how you measure the return on investment,” she rambled.
“When you are strengthening neighborhoods, strengthening communities — and in particular, the economy of those communities and investing in a broad-based economy — everybody benefits. And it pays for itself.”
Harris was ridiculed on social media for her incoherent statements that were presented as policy explanations.
“She can’t answer simple questions,” one user on X commented.
Every time Kamala Harris speaks, she appears to validate the idea that she’s an inexperienced diversity pick, manipulated by unelected radical left bureaucrats.
Her struggle to justify the few policies she has hastily assembled since being positioned as her party’s candidate highlights why many Americans view her as nothing more than a far-left “ding-dong.”
