Watch: Rep. Jasmine Crockett Gets Embarrassed on CNN After Kaitlan Collins Exposes Her Ballroom Lie
Democrats continue to spin desperate falsehoods hoping one might finally take hold.
But when even CNN refuses to play along, you know the narrative is collapsing.
During a Monday segment, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) attempted to spread her party’s latest hoax about President Donald Trump — this time accusing him of prioritizing a supposed “White House ballroom” renovation — only to be fact-checked in real time by CNN host Kaitlan Collins, one of the network’s usual defenders of Democratic talking points.
“Do you believe this will be the week that Congress comes to an agreement here?”
Collins asked in a clip posted to X, referring to the government shutdown caused by Senate Democrats.
Crockett, ignoring reality, tried to pin the entire standoff on President Trump.
“I have no idea,” she said. “You started off talking about the fact that the president is in Japan. The president has time to do everything but what he needs to focus on.”
Then came the fabricated “ballroom” narrative — built on Democrats’ selective editing of comments from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
“In fact,” Crockett added, “we heard the press secretary say that his main priority is the ballroom — the ballroom that no one asked for, the ballroom that requires him to destroy historic pieces of the White House, and so it doesn’t seem like he’s interested.”
Democrats seized on that line, pushing the false claim that the president was demolishing parts of the White House for a lavish new ballroom.
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) even went so far as to declare that any Democrat running for president in 2028 must promise to destroy Trump’s ballroom if elected — an outburst that shows how detached from reality the left has become.
But Collins, to her credit, corrected the record.
“That context of the comment from Karoline Leavitt,” Collins clarified, “she was asked if the president was working on any other renovations when it came to the White House, and she was saying his focus was the ballroom.”
Crockett looked visibly uncomfortable — a rare moment where CNN refused to protect a Democrat’s talking point.
Jasmine Crockett immediately runs the debunked "Trump’s main priority is the ballroom” hoax on her CNN hit.

The lie is so egregious, she actually gets fact-checked by Kaitlan Collins. https://t.co/HRfeoTZ3ys pic.twitter.com/lvdp4gkuGu
Even so, no one expects CNN to suddenly become a beacon of journalistic integrity. The network has been complicit in spreading hoaxes from Russia collusion to “Fine People” and beyond. Each time, the goal was the same — to deceive the public and damage President Trump.
If corporate media outlets ever stopped lying, one wonders: where would Democrats go to sell their next hoax?
