Watch: Trump Hit Kaitlan Collins With Possibly His Truest Insult Ever and You Can Hear Him Go Even Farther After the Main Mic Turns Off

President Donald J. Trump didn’t hold back Tuesday when confronted by CNN correspondent Kaitlan Collins, sharply criticizing her demeanor and the network’s coverage of him.

At an Oval Office briefing, Collins asked the president about the latest release of documents connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Trump deflected to policy priorities, saying, “I think it’s really time for the country to get on to something else, like health care — something that people care about.”

Collins pressed him, asking what he would like to say to Epstein’s victims. Trump’s response was blunt.

“You are so bad. You know, you are the worst reporter,” he said. “No wonder … CNN has no ratings. It’s because of people like you.”

Trump went further, describing Collins as perpetually sour and dishonest. “You know, she’s a young woman,” he said. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile. I’ve known you for 10 years. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a smile on your face.”

He tied her demeanor directly to her reporting, asserting, “You know why you’re not smiling? Because you know you’re not telling the truth. You’re a very dishonest organization — and they [CNN] should be ashamed of you.”

After the briefing, Trump was overheard telling an aide: “See her right there? She never smiles. She’s an unhappy person.”

The president’s remarks resonated with many on social media, with numerous X users agreeing with his assessment of Collins’s often dour on-air presence.

Trump’s frustration with CNN and Collins, in particular, has grown over the years amid repeated coverage he says distorts facts about him. While journalists do have a role in questioning public figures — including on sensitive matters like the Epstein files — Trump’s comments underline his disdain for what he views as partisan bias.

Collins and others in the mainstream media, he argues, often operate less as objective reporters and more as propagandists, a dynamic that fuels widespread public skepticism.
