Wife Of Charlie Kirk Posted Eerie Message Before Assassination
Just hours before her husband was gunned down at Utah Valley University, Erika Kirk posted two Bible verses that now read like a heartbreaking foreshadowing of tragedy.
“Psalm 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,” she wrote. Moments later, she shared: “Psalm 34:8 – Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!”
By 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, Charlie Kirk — 31 years old, husband, father of two, and the founder of Turning Point USA — was struck in the throat by a single bullet while addressing a campus crowd.
The Investigation
The FBI confirmed it is working with state and local authorities to track down the killer, describing the attack as a “targeted assassination.”
On Thursday, FBI special agent Robert Bohls said investigators had recovered a “high-powered bolt-action rifle” from a wooded area near the campus, along with forensic evidence and surveillance footage showing the suspect fleeing from a rooftop into a neighborhood. Authorities believe the shooter is “college-aged” and dressed in all black, firing from roughly 200 yards away.
“We find ourselves today hunting a murderer,” Bohls said. “We are confident we will be able to identify him.”
Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason said every available law enforcement resource is being poured into the case. “We will not stand for what happened yesterday,” he said.
Trump and Allies Respond
President Donald Trump, a close friend of Kirk’s, released a video message condemning the culture of hate that fuels left-wing violence.
“It’s long past time for all Americans and the media to confront the fact that violence and murder are the tragic consequence of demonizing those with whom you disagree,” Trump said. “For years, those on the radical Left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst mass murderers and criminals. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we’re seeing in our country today, and it must stop right now.”
Vice President J.D. Vance urged Americans to pray for the Kirk family, calling Charlie “a genuinely good guy and a young father.” Utah Sen. Mike Lee echoed those sentiments, while even Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom was compelled to denounce the attack, calling it “disgusting, vile, and reprehensible.”
A Life Cut Short
Kirk’s story is one of meteoric impact. At just 18, he founded Turning Point USA, which grew into the most influential conservative youth movement in America. By 2024, he was widely credited with driving record numbers of young voters to President Trump’s re-election campaign.
His loss is not only a devastating blow to his family but to an entire generation of conservatives he inspired.
As Erika Kirk’s Bible verses remind us, faith is often the last refuge in the storm. For millions of grieving Americans, Charlie’s legacy will live on in the movement he built, the truths he spoke, and the courage he embodied until his final breath.
