Biden-Era TSA Security Program Used Against Political Opponents: DHS

The Department of Homeland Security has unearthed yet another disturbing scandal rooted in the Biden administration — this time involving the Transportation Security Administration's misuse of its watchlisting powers for political gain.

In a revealing press release this week, DHS disclosed shocking evidence of the Biden administration's politicization of national security screening programs, such as Silent Partners, Quiet Skies, and other watchlists — all designed to protect Americans from real threats. Instead, they were reportedly manipulated to shield political allies and target opponents.

Among the most egregious examples: William “Billy” Shaheen, husband of Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, was deliberately excluded from enhanced TSA surveillance protocols despite alarming travel behavior. DHS revealed that former TSA Administrator David Pekoske, under pressure from Sen. Shaheen, personally ensured that Shaheen was removed from the watchlist — even though he flew multiple times with a known or suspected terrorist.

Documents show Pekoske issued repeated, direct orders exempting Shaheen from the program — a blatant abuse of power that potentially endangered the American public. Meanwhile, political dissidents, including Tulsi Gabbard — now serving as Director of National Intelligence under President Donald J. Trump — were added to the watchlist shortly thereafter with no transparency and virtually zero due process.

“This program was used as a political rolodex of the Biden Administration—weaponized against its political foes and to benefit their well-heeled friends,” said DHS Secretary Kristi Noem in the release. “This program should have been about the equal application of security. Instead, it was corrupted to be about political targeting.”

Noem emphasized that under President Trump’s renewed leadership, the DHS will return to constitutional principles, restoring integrity and equal protection under the law for all Americans.

And the Trump Administration is wasting no time doing just that.

In a sweeping new executive order signed Wednesday night, President Donald J. Trump implemented stringent travel restrictions targeting nearly 20 countries identified as high-risk for terrorism, immigration fraud, or failure to cooperate on security measures.

Executive Order 14161 imposes full travel bans on nationals from 12 countries — including Iran, Somalia, Libya, Yemen, and Afghanistan — citing their inability or unwillingness to provide proper security cooperation, their history of visa overstays, and their links to global terrorism.

Another seven countries — including Venezuela, Cuba, and Laos — face partial restrictions due to ongoing national security concerns, according to reporting by Fox News.

“President Trump is fulfilling his promise to protect Americans from dangerous foreign actors that want to come to our country and cause us harm,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson told the outlet. She described the bans as “common sense” measures based on real data and intelligence.

The President addressed the nation in a video posted to social media, referencing the recent Boulder, Colorado, terror attack carried out by a foreign national who overstayed his visa.

“We don’t want them,” Trump said bluntly. “In the 21st century, we’ve seen one terror attack after another carried out by foreign visa overstayers from dangerous places all over the world. Thanks to Biden’s open-door policies, today there are millions and millions of these illegals who should not be in our country.”

Trump concluded with a firm warning: “We will not allow people to enter our country who wish to do us harm, and nothing will stop us from keeping America safe.”

The new directive is expected to be reviewed periodically, with countries added or removed based on their cooperation and security risk.

With the Biden-era culture of favoritism and selective enforcement exposed, the Trump administration is once again reaffirming that national security is not a political tool — it is a constitutional duty.
