Bloodbath in NYC, Then Van Plows Into Crowd in LA - Many Injuries Including Children

On Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles, a minivan veered out of control and crashed into pedestrians — including several children — at a bustling outdoor market.

The collision occurred around 3:15 p.m. in Santee Alley, a well-known area filled with open-air vendors, the Los Angeles Police Department stated, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.

Following the incident, the silver minivan appeared to have collided with multiple concrete barriers before finally stopping on a crowded stretch of sidewalk.

The vehicle came to rest under a damaged awning, part of which was left draped across the van.

Authorities confirmed that nine individuals were hurt in the crash. They did not clarify how many were pedestrians or occupants of the vehicle.

Seven of the injured were transported to nearby hospitals, including three minors, according to police.

As Fox News noted, the Los Angeles Fire Department identified the children as “an 8-year-old boy, an 11-year-old boy, and a 17-year-old male,” all of whom were hospitalized in fair condition.

Four adult women were also taken to hospitals. According to officials, they included “a 54-year-old woman, a 65-year-old woman, a 30-year-old woman, and a 23-year-old woman.”

In addition, two other 23-year-old women were evaluated at the scene. First responders treated them, but both declined further medical attention despite being advised to go to the hospital.

Police later stated that they “do not believe the crash was intentional,” CBS reported.

Investigators added that neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected to have played a role in the incident.

Authorities have not yet identified the driver, and it remains unclear whether any charges will be brought.

This crash came just hours after a separate, unrelated act of violence endangered children on the opposite side of the country.

In New York City, four children were injured in a cleaver attack before police fatally shot the suspect, according to WABC-TV.

Officials said the children’s injuries were “not considered life-threatening.”
