Colombia Bows Knee to Trump, Will Take Illegals, Gives POTUS Every Single Thing He Wants

Less than nine hours after President Donald Trump issued a stern warning about imposing severe tariffs on Colombia, the nation’s socialist president, Gustavo Petro, conceded to all of Trump’s demands, agreeing to take back all illegal aliens deported from the United States.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared the breakthrough late Sunday night, confirming Petro’s complete compliance with Trump’s terms.

“The Government of Colombia has agreed to all of President Trump’s conditions, including the unrestricted acceptance of all illegal aliens from Colombia returned from the United States, even on U.S. military aircraft, without limitation or delay,” Leavitt stated in a post on X.

“Based on this agreement, the fully prepared IEEPA [International Emergency Economic Powers Act] tariffs and sanctions will remain on standby and not be signed unless Colombia fails to honor this agreement.”

Trump emphasized that all planned tariffs and sanctions would stay in place “until the first planeload of Colombian deportees is successfully returned.”

Leavitt highlighted the speed of the resolution as evidence of America’s renewed strength on the global stage. “Today’s events make clear to the world that America is respected again,” she said. “President Trump will continue to fiercely protect our nation’s sovereignty, and he expects full cooperation from other nations in accepting the deportation of their citizens illegally present in the United States.”

The deal avoided an impending trade conflict after Colombia initially resisted accepting deportation flights of its migrants from the U.S.

Hours before his capitulation, Petro posted a fiery message on X, criticizing the U.S. as “boring” and implying that Trump was akin to a “white slaver.”

Despite his earlier defiance, Petro ultimately yielded to Trump’s demands without reservation.

Trump’s bold assertion of America’s power ignited a wave of reactions on social media.

“Colombia just bent the knee,” an X user wrote. “Now you will see other countries do the same. America is back.”

Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin noted: “The Colombian president retweeted @PressSec’s post about this. Hard to see this as anything but a full capitulation by the Colombian president after he picked a fight with Trump today.”

After enduring four difficult years when the U.S. struggled with an influx of unvetted illegal migrants — including violent criminals — there’s a palpable sense of relief in seeing a president committed to securing the nation’s borders and safeguarding public safety.

As the first month of Trump’s second term unfolds, there’s a renewed sense of optimism and hope for significant strides toward realizing the vision of American exceptionalism.
