Dems' Newest Folk Hero Linked to Human Smuggler - Will They Still Defend Him?

Once again, the predictable cycle of establishment spin and Democratic virtue-signaling has unfolded right on cue.

Here’s the pattern: Democrats wrap themselves in a blanket of moral superiority, championing someone who, as time reveals, may not deserve such advocacy. Then, as more facts come to light, that narrative inevitably unravels — often in ways that turn their sincerity into internet fodder.

Case in point: Just the News reports that court and intelligence materials from the Department of Homeland Security implicate Kilmar Abrego Garcia — the undocumented immigrant who was recently cast by Democrats as a saintly “Maryland father” after his deportation and detention in El Salvador — as a person of interest in an investigation with potential links to a known human trafficker.

In 2022, authorities in Tennessee pulled over Abrego Garcia, who was driving a black SUV registered to Jose Ramon Hernandez Reyes.

The vehicle had no luggage inside and an undisclosed number of passengers. Abrego Garcia told officers the travelers were construction laborers en route from Texas to Maryland.

But Homeland Security Investigations in Baltimore had previously flagged the SUV. Why? It belonged to a man already under suspicion for human smuggling or trafficking.

That man, Hernandez Reyes, had in fact pleaded guilty in 2020 to illegally transporting migrants into the U.S. He served an 18-month sentence and was ordered deported in March 2021. Re-entering the U.S. unlawfully could land him an additional decade behind bars.

Authorities first became aware of Hernandez Reyes when Mississippi police found him transporting a group of undocumented individuals.

Worse still, when Tennessee officers questioned Abrego Garcia, he referred to Hernandez Reyes as his employer.

Taken together — the smuggling past of Hernandez Reyes, the suspicious traffic stop, the lack of luggage, and the relationship between the two men — the situation casts serious doubt on Abrego Garcia’s supposed innocence.

It also shatters the clean-cut, sympathetic image of the “Maryland father” Democrats have promoted.

And that brings us to a deeper issue, one that might baffle psychologists and historians alike for years to come:

Why do Democratic leaders so often go to bat for individuals with deeply questionable pasts? What motivates them to turn convicted criminals, corrupt officials, or violent offenders into political martyrs?

Even on popular issues — where polling shows that 80% of Americans agree — Democrats often align themselves with the 20% fringe.

Trump Derangement Syndrome surely plays a role, but even that obsession begs for a deeper explanation.

What we do know is this: it follows a script.

First, Democrats embrace a flawed cause with performative righteousness. Then the corporate media spins it into a polished, palatable story, complete with buzzwords like “mostly peaceful” or “safe and effective.” Eventually, reality catches up. New information surfaces. The narrative cracks, and what began as serious advocacy becomes ripe for mockery and memes.

So, considering these latest revelations, we can reasonably expect that the “Maryland father” will soon join the ranks of meme-ified missteps — yet another example of misplaced priorities, media manipulation, and political myopia.
