Top Republican Gets BRUTAL News After Backstabbing Trump
Following remarks made during a recent town hall, one of the Senate’s “moderate” Republicans is receiving fresh backlash from Trump loyalists.
As reported by Reuters, Senator Lisa Murkowski expressed concern this week about criticizing President Donald Trump’s policies, including his executive orders, tariff strategies, and budgetary cuts to federal agencies. Her hesitation, she said, stems from fear of political retribution.
“We are all afraid,” Murkowski admitted while speaking at a gathering of nonprofit and tribal leaders.

“It’s quite a statement. But we are in a time and a place where I certainly have not been here before,” she continued. “And I’ll tell you, I am oftentimes very anxious myself about using my voice, because retaliation is real. And that’s not right.”
In response to her comments, the White House issued a statement. “Success and historic accomplishments for the American people are President Trump’s only retribution,” said spokesperson Taylor Rogers in a statement to Reuters.
“I’m going to use my voice to the best of my ability,” Murkowski emphasized. “I’ve got to figure out how I can do my best to help the many who are so anxious and are so afraid.”
A video shared by the Anchorage Daily News on Monday captured Murkowski’s remarks after she was asked what message she had for constituents concerned about the direction of Trump administration policies.
Murkowski has stood apart from most of her Republican colleagues by openly challenging Trump. She has opposed some of his Cabinet picks, resisted several of his initiatives, and advocated for lifting tariffs on Canada. Notably, she was one of seven GOP senators who voted to convict Trump during his second impeachment trial, a move that nearly cost her reelection against a Trump-endorsed challenger three years ago.
Her latest remarks sparked a wave of social media criticism from Trump supporters, some of whom questioned her alignment with the Republican Party.
“Lisa Murkowski says ‘we are all afraid’ [n]ow because of Trump… But where was she over the past 4 years when Biden was using lawfare to go after his political opponents?? Oh thats right, she’s really a Democrat,” wrote comedian and entrepreneur Tim Young on X, posting the video of Murkowski.
“She is shameful and disgusting,” commented one user. “Does she have a primary opponent yet?” another asked.
Others added their voices to the criticism: “Sounds like she’s worried about something? Wonder what skeletons she has in her closet?” and “The disconnect, the lies, the exaggeration—so sick of her. She needs to be voted out.”
Meanwhile, the Trump administration continues efforts to fulfill key campaign pledges.
On Tuesday, Vice President JD Vance applauded progress on a U.S.-India trade deal, stating the alliance between Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be pivotal for a “prosperous and peaceful” century.
Speaking from Jaipur in northern India, Vance warned of the “dire” risks in the Indo-Pacific should the two nations fail to maintain cooperation, predicting a “dark time” globally without their partnership.
“Critics have attacked my president, President Trump, for starting a trade war in an effort to bring back the jobs of the past, but nothing could be further from the truth. He seeks to rebalance global trade so that America, with friends like India, can build a future worth having for all of our people together,” Vance said, defending Trump’s tariffs and push to revitalize American industry.
He continued, “Both of our governments are hard at work on a trade agreement built on shared priorities, like creating new jobs, building durable supply chains, and achieving prosperity for our workers. In our meeting yesterday, Prime Minister Modi and I made very good progress on all of those points, and we’re especially excited to formally announce that America and India have officially finalized the terms of reference for the trade negotiations.”
“I think this is a vital step toward realizing President Trump and Prime Minister Modi’s vision because it sets a roadmap toward a final deal between our nations. I believe there is much America and India can accomplish together,” he concluded.
